Great interpretation, kosmo. In fact, I don’t understand all these disappointments about the ending... after all, the film delivers everything it promises; the ending with the electric saw and that calm atmosphere is, I believe, an unforgettable contrast.

"that only last year" OMG! xD well, the rest of the review holds up... the film is a gem of the slasher genre, it earned Aja a one-way ticket to Hollywood. I disagree with the ending; the film is deliberately excessive and unrealistic, the fact that certain things don’t match is part of the game and serves to divert the viewer’s gaze to focus it on the core of the film. Rightfully among the best slashers of the last 20 years.
