I reiterate what I said in the previous review, but now that I think about it, no one has mentioned the CG... the CG isn’t terrible, but it's made up of embarrassing highs and lows for a film with this budget: and the lows almost exclusively concern the "vampires." First and foremost, the animation speed, excessive and erratic, more resembling the evolution of a cheetah than the de-evolution of a human... it’s hard to believe that a being that is, all in all, equipped with a human skeleton and muscular system suddenly gains feline agility. And if they look incredibly fake in motion, it’s not much better in static sequences: the detail is scandalously low; clever play of lights and shadows isn’t enough to make human models believable. The tragedy is that games like Unreal 3 offer a level of realism in real time that is superior to the CG in this film, which, to be honest, looks like it's at least 7-8 years old. If you happen to watch The Golden Compass, you'll notice a care and level of CG integration that is worthy of our time. The animals are saved at the last minute, believable enough, and the vampire dogs, all in all, are well done.

Carrey better than Norton? In which parallel dimension?

It’s a light, tacky, Hollywood version of 28 Days Later... but the horror sequences are effective, the cinematography is beautiful, and the happy ending isn’t all that happy. The problem lies in the narrative, which is nothing special, but then again, the version from the '60s wasn’t particularly convincing either... it’s not the first time in history that the book is better than the movie, huh...

I found it incredibly poor... okay, it's a children's movie, but it's still too poor: I found Carrey unbearable and embarrassing, maybe his worst film.

The best cinematic representation of schizophrenia, period. How can you say that Fiennes is just decent? I wonder the same, every single detail, from his own nails, is perfect.
