this film is total aestheticism, the historical adherence is superficial and realism is deliberately dodged. Like in the comic books. Tomb Raider, on the other hand, already sucked in video game form (only the first one from 1996, a forerunner of the 3D action-adventure, is worth saving), the movie was destined to be an unwatchable crap.

I still go there every now and then, but being quite a fan of electronics, I can assure you that in the face of the awful sound that’s around 90% of the time, I have to be pretty altered to tolerate it... nightclubs were and still are a hunting ground. Clichés are an integral part of comics; if you cut them out, you anger fans and purists. The same goes for monsters and animals; aesthetics prevail over realism, and that’s purely intentional. If they had made a realistic wolf, it would have been disappointing and off-topic.

The first sentence fits perfectly, take it or leave it. A well-crafted film, well acted and shot, but it fully embraces all the clichés of the genre, resulting in the end as a poor copy of stuff already seen. But perhaps it was inevitable.
