I'm hearing it from the site, it's possible to listen to it all for a limited time. It seems nice to me for now, I'll postpone my judgment for later.

rece tl;dr in short, the game is one of the last flashes of crazy creativity from Rare before everything goes to hell. Never played it, but it was known for pushing the boundaries (feces, swear words, alcoholism, sex), especially on a Nintendo system. Aside from that, I believe Rare was the flagship developer for the big N in the 90s, and the fact that the original team has evaporated has cost them dearly in recent years (at least in terms of quality; from what I hear, sales have still been quite good).

imo loses momentum already in the second season, but the first one remains excellent. The creator of the series is Terence Winter, who was already a producer of The Sopranos (a series that imo remains unparalleled in the genre).

The review leans a bit too much on the publisher, but it says more or less what needs to be said; this mix of a 16-bit tech demo and promotional mascot worked, brilliantly. A note on the 3D transition, imo excellent over a dozen years ago (on Dream), lost along the way for almost a decade and miraculously rediscovered recently with Generations (putting it bluntly, beautiful).
Then as now, it’s a game that brings forth color, aesthetics, and speed, but it’s good to occasionally break away from the warlike or "dungeonesque" grays of modern titles; it’s a breath of fresh air. And this is written by someone who has been playing nothing but Diablo 3 for 15 days.

I only saw the original and it wasn't too bad, given what the point of the film was. Of course, anyone watching it expecting entertainment is starting off on the wrong foot. I didn't know about the remake.

Paradoxically, the first episodes are the most sluggish... then the second, third, and fourth series are fabulous! The fifth consists of the movies, with the first being excellent, and the other three being decent but declining, while the sixth season (2010) is half great and half (2011) so-so... in 2 weeks we should have the first episode of the seventh season.
Valve Corporation Half-Life

the first modern shooter, released in an archaic era when the competition was still producing only "brainless" stuff, certainly THE milestone in terms of fps. If you then consider that the only one capable of surpassing it is its sequel, it’s easy to see how Valve went from being a small group of nerds fleeing M$ to the most powerful and beloved giant in the industry in just a decade.

I still have to hear it, but the single makes me nauseous.

I'm seeing him tonight; they described him as "beautiful," so I'm not quite sure what to expect...

Highly trash splatter, it’s entertaining and some ideas are genius. For fans of the genre, it’s almost a must-see, while those who don't appreciate trash should steer clear.
