Naruto sucks, it’s a commercial anime, a franchise riding the wave of Dragon Ball. In Nipponland, they probably even make toilet paper with Naruto on it. The really good series, the really really good ones, don’t make it here; you have to search for them and watch them subtitled.

Screw her and mistreat her or tell her to fuck off directly... that kind of woman exists and she allows herself to do what she does only because in this world there is an army of assholes ready to worship her. Try to get involved with a bitch like that and you'll suffer like a dog.

Well, if we're talking about manga okay, it's cool, but when it comes to anime, there's stuff that's on another planet.

But the problem is that here we have a fucking nice mix of debate on commercial cartoons and TV series with animated films and all sorts of crap, all seasoned with mediocrity and hearsay... YOU can’t compare a film like Snow White with commercial TV series (which are often adapted from superb manga), for crying out loud. Films should be compared with films, series with series, always being very careful about the context and the release period.

Poletti, it depends on the cartoons... there’s crap from Japan just like there’s crap from the USA. When I got here, I found awful stuff like Holly & Benji or Mila & Shiro, but I loved Kenshiro and Ranma 1/2... and anyway, we're always talking about old stuff and animated series; the reference for the genre has never been what Fininvest provided. Recently, the USA has grown a lot in terms of technique, but the Japanese have also advanced narratively. And in contrast, the best from the USA circulates worldwide, while the best from Japan doesn’t leave Japan.
