The Chemical Brothers B-Sides Volume 1

It's not that I have a deep-seated grudge against The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, even if the previous post might suggest otherwise. They’ve made a slice of what wasn't previously accessible to the masses into something commercial and palatable, and thank God, it’s still not fully mainstream. Back then, it took skill and cunning. (yesterday). However, today even the least savvy kids can sense that they’re trying to appeal to everyone, that creativity has already been squeezed dry, and that the contribution they made to the genre has had its day.

"Anyway, 'Born Slippy' by Underworld smokes the entire discography of the Chemical Brothers." Huge nonsense.

"Meanwhile, everyone—and I mean EVERYONE—when it comes to electronic/dance always refers to them as the benchmark." But who is everyone? All the idiots? Who don’t understand a damn thing about electronics and think that the 2 samples brought to the masses by groups like Chemical and Prodigy are the references of the genre? Sure, they have a couple of masterpieces under their belt, at least in the realm of house/breakbeat/trip hop (you hear dance on Radio Deejay, may the next person who writes 'dance' associated with the Chemicals die a slow and painful death), but you're talking about electronics in general, as if these 4 crumbs handed to the masses are unanimously significant. These groups are artistically dead, even their genre has evolved, but they have lagged behind.

The Prodigy are stuck 10 years ago, I'd rather skip over that last mediocre disc... all these British bands that broke into the mainstream in the '90s have already had their say, they're long gone.

I preferred the electroclash/trip hop turn taken with the previous two albums; the return to smooth pop leaves me a bit cold.

"We are in the early '90s, and the rock scene has now split into two: on one side the thrash metal and on the other the grunge scene of Seattle."

"Is Hutchence the one who died while wanking?" essentially yes, and given the hot girls he had at his disposal, it seems even more ridiculous.

You can give it all the 2s you want, whether you like it or not, this film is history. My personal opinion, though, it doesn’t go beyond a 4.

But all these people who hate Korn, what the hell are they doing on this page? Can't you just go fuck off somewhere else? In 200 comments, you've summarized one of the dumbest pages on the site, congratulations.
