"I was particularly curious to see Salvati's work, who is certainly not a newcomer (more than 18 years of appreciated direction of music videos and commercials for Italian artists and others, among which I recall the beautiful clip of 'gli angeli' by Vasco Rossi in collaboration with Polanski)." Look, I don't know why, but this sentence piqued my curiosity, and so by chance I went to find out more, and it turned out that aside from a long series of crappy music videos, the only film he directed is 'Jolly Blu' (!!!), about which I won’t even comment because I don’t feel like condensing so many vulgarities into a few lines. The damn movie by 883 and a crap DVD promo on one of Vasco's horrendous last albums, these are his credentials... which you deliberately concealed in the review, presenting the director as someone "who knows his stuff." Are you serious or just pulling my leg?

The review is fine, but to me it seems like a kind of saga in the style of Harry Potter but aimed at a female audience.

As a kid, I loved the scene where the bad guys are chased by Jack and they throw sticks of dynamite at him, blowing up a car yes and a car no on the sides of the road, with Big Gun by AC/DC playing underneath :D and that’s pretty much all I remember about the movie... great soundtrack anyway.

When Gomorra and Il Divo were released not long ago, I rightly thought that contemporary Italian cinema had hope; there were people capable of producing quality work... but in light of the box office earnings that these horrific trash (like the film in question) manage to generate, I understand why there is no longer even the incentive to produce anything of a certain level, since the Italian population is stupid... between TV junk, journalistic trash, and pseudo-Moccia literature, people (and not just the young) have become deficient, and to make money it is much easier and safer to keep producing crap like this or those holiday comedies because the poor idiots (who are the majority) will fill the theaters anyway...

It's a classic, but it doesn't rank among my favorites.

hmmm, concise beyond all measure, I like the underlying idea but perhaps you were a bit too hasty

I haven't read it, but I've heard very good things about it... I believe that MTV is/was airing the anime.
