Great review, a hyper-realistic snapshot of what the Beatles still mean in 2006. Other descriptions of this album would have bored me; they’ve already said everything and its opposite. This is a charming way to poke fun at the now 40-year-long clash between Fun and R&R: The Beatles as genius musicians and the most revolutionary innovators of the last century, or mediocre artists glorified by a constructed and inflated operation from the star system for commercial (if not reactionary) reasons. For years, those who listen to rock have been beating themselves up over this point, and I see it continues. Congrats on the review; a suggestion for next time: come up with pseudonyms.
Celine Dion One Heart

Everyone has their tastes; a review that's (technically) well done, but the album is terrible. However, as I wrote last year, we need to relativize and think that for those who love easy pop without any creative pretension, it might be 'good'.
What bothers me is the amount of research they do (and especially the listening) on mainstream genres (not just online), but in few places like here have I seen things reviewed at the level of Pere Ubu, Nico, Can, etc., even though not many know bands of this kind. What kind of reaction do they expect then by posting on a site that offers a musical perspective ignored by F/N or MTV, one of those many deluxe pop albums? Right to Review, right to critique, even if furious.

No, I’m almost at the end of the album and I’ve changed my mind.
I like it so much that I’ll give it 5 -
that is, 5 here!!!

Great review; it made me want to listen to it.
I own the vinyl version of this album, and I keep it among my most prized possessions.
BUT!!!
1) I agree with those who said that they still don't reach the magnificence of Faust or (in my opinion) even Neu!
2) I think this magnificent (I emphasize) album doesn't reach the heights of their masterpiece Tago Mago.
3) How can you say it was unthinkable for those years????
With what was being released at that time, especially in Germany???
Just for these reasons, I don't feel like giving it top marks.
Anyway, I'm listening to it on headphones while I write.............it's truly remarkable!
I’ll give it a 4 because I can't give it 4 and a half (besides, 5 options are a bit limiting).
Nico Desertshore
Voto:
Someone said Chelsea Girl? Perhaps the only album by Nico that is artistically worthless or at least doesn't hold up against her subsequent (master)works. Desertshore at the forefront. For the review, I would have liked some deeper insights into the songs (some words spent on the solemnity of Falconer, or the desperate invocation of My Only Child, or the romantic ballad of Afraid; in short, there was no shortage of choices). I score it a Max anyway because it's remarkable to see that this masterpiece is still remembered (a score for the intention, a score for the choice). While I'm writing this, I'm listening to 'Mutterlein' right from this record, which is why I'm in such a good mood. (By the way, I ended up here by chance, so if I figure out how this works, I'll leave a little something) BYE
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds The Boatman's Call
Voto:
Not Nick Cave’s best: Good Child, The FirstBorne is Dead Tender, Prey, what are they then? (not to mention From Her to Eternity)
But I completely agree with the review:
It is undoubtedly the most intimate one.
In this album, Nick Cave’s music seems, at times, too fragile compared to his previous works, yet
it is precisely for this reason that it becomes a captivating album, where the musical discourse shifts to feelings, the lyrics
take center stage, leading
the listener into the delightful bitterness and melancholy that pervade these notes.
Nick Cave defined this feeling
'Saudade' a Portuguese word
which he described in this way:
"Saudade is the desire to be transported from darkness to light.....The love song and the light of God deep down, making its way through our wounds."
Truly not the best, but unmissable.
Nevertheless, Lime-tree arbour remains one of the most beautiful love songs of all time.
