Well, the point is that you consider noise as not music, while what I was trying to say is that in many works (including this one, or Sister Ray just to stick to a classic), noise is no longer seen as the antithesis of music but as music in itself with the same dignity as melody. Just think that many things we today consider "music" were dismissed as noise without any sense a century ago (The Rite of Spring, to give you an example). In the end, it's a matter of perspective: you might only consider music what is tonal and, in a sense, melodic, so your analysis makes sense for consistency, but in my opinion, without the presumption of teaching anything, such a view misses out on a lot of beautiful stuff (beautiful for me, of course). I still believe it's a matter of habit; we grew up with melody and tonality, so we "like" that. Anyway, everything is valid, but to truly conceive "music" solely from that point of view means telling a lot of people: folks, you have discussed and talked about something you called music for years, but it was something entirely different... I find that at least daring. Your quote is valid, but come on, we're talking about someone who has made several albums, most of which have been praised by critics and are very different from TMR... so really, this is genius, not a lack of talent :-). As for the importance of Scaruffi in spreading the word, I fully agree with you, but that doesn’t take anything away from Don. Anyway, greetings. Have a good evening, and sorry for my verbosity.

I agree with easycure on the essence of art. However, I disagree regarding this album, which for me manages very well to create that alchemy between accessibility, immediacy, and avant-garde. In this sense, for me, an absolute masterpiece is The Emotional Plague...

Come on... it's clearly nonsense... a provocation, excuse me... do we really have to be connected 24 hours a day? There will be a new review every 3 minutes...
