They snatched this review right out of my hands. Damn you! Well done!! I saw them live in 1992 in Canada at the release of this album. Such beautiful memories. They were amazing, even though they leaned towards grunge live. A very, very enjoyable album for a now niche group.

What are you saying, ILOVEMUSIC? Commercial, as the word itself suggests, is an album that sold well. Maybe you mean "marketable," made to sell a lot, but that's an overused argument, because I could respond: it sold well because it was beautiful. Then you show me an album that isn’t influenced by the sounds in which it was conceived. Come on. What a simplistic discussion. It's much simpler, in these cases, to have the courage (or intellectual honesty) to say: I don’t like this singer. Period. Without all those trivial justifications.

Stan, I didn't think it would make it to debaser too! Like a Martian on Earth!
James Taylor Live

Pirgiorgio, very well done! Perhaps you didn't notice, but you were the first to review this great artist. It’s clear that we are not talking about the passion and fervor of Dylan, or the power of acoustic Springsteen. Taylor is inextricably linked to 70s West Coast music. To me, he has always been a great. He represents that positive, playful, calm, relaxed part of America. He tells his stories in a delicate and romantic way. His most beautiful production remains that of the 70s, but in recent years he has produced some beautiful albums.

Damn Ritchie, great taste but for heaven's sake if you're "dry". Too much for a record like this.
Bruce Springsteen Lucky Town
Voto:
Daniele, I really love this album. It’s more direct, straightforward, “raw” compared to Human Touch. Less produced, it sounds “live.” And I adore the songs. Like the beautiful Lucky Town, with its laid-back mood and the concept expressed: “quando sono giù vado a Las Vegas a sbracarmi.....” (personal interpretation). Strong, right? There's a lot of blues and gospel choirs as well. But even in this case, the rating rightly stops at 4 (always according to his parameters). The review could have been a bit more heartfelt and in-depth. This album deserves it and deserves to be rediscovered.

Daniele, I actually agree with you that this Bruce album, compared to his standards, is indeed a 3 (3.5 as a fan). I also concur with you on the songs you've pointed out as the most successful. But, all in all, and it pains me to say it, it's a "deflated," "flabby" album for someone like Bruce. Some said he had slacked off in Beverly Hills. Well, maybe they weren’t entirely wrong. Definitely much better and more accomplished is the contemporary Lucky Town. Anyway, he has been back living in New Jersey for a while now...

Alright, let's go listen to them. It seems like just the thing for my rock 'n' roll ears. One little thing: I play on the Playstation... should I be ashamed like a dog?

Big D... you know you’re great, right? A badass male with balls of steel. Come on, you’re way ahead. So ahead that you can’t even see yourself anymore. Now, if you have the guts (oooh I know you do, right?) back up your post using the few connections left between your neurons. I almost forgot...: "Argomenta" means explain in your own words what you meant.

... Maybe it's because of his Italian roots, I don't know, but to me he has always felt like a lucky, carefree friend, completely ordinary yet capable of conveying an uncommon optimism and joy. On the side of the weaker, politically engaged against the unfortunate (Hispanic immigrants, Black individuals shot by police, poor souls without jobs), he raised his voice even against then-President Ronald Reagan. Back then, it was almost blasphemous. To me, he is a tremendous figure. P.S.: But what could the poor Bob have possibly done to be so unlikable to you?
