Odradek and Hal, I know "Acquilarco" and "Spasimo," both surely excellent. To be discovered.
Rod Stewart It Had To Be You

Alfo, I think the crucial points were 4 and 5. Rod, especially around here, has fallen into a sort of oblivion. It’s been so long, decades, since he made an album worth mentioning. These reinterpretations of old standards fit into that perspective. Nothing new under the sun. Try comparing it with Springsteen's new one: Seger Sessions. At least he made an effort to give it a personal interpretation. Moreover, choosing tracks that are by no means obvious, as Stewart did: his selection is blatantly commercial. Maybe your premise wasn't necessary.

Enrico, you will agree with me that you can't base and found the beauty, the value, of an album on this talk about debuting at number one or copies sold. Otherwise, what can we say about Jackson's Thriller or Madonna's Like a Virgin or, to simplify, any album by Britney?

Are you sure Enrico that the Guns, for example, didn’t debut at number one? (but what’s the point of this anyway?)

The Bluesman, to criticize my ideas you use the phrase "the photographer who composed the cover"? Come on Blues! (Anyway, since you belong to the Accademia della Crusca, the photographer does indeed "compose" the image which will then be part of the cover, along with other technical adjustments, like maybe the application of a faux frame). I Blues, don’t mix anything at all. And I don't know what to say to someone who praises an album because "it's the only hard rock album to debut at number one on Billboard." What do you want me to say in the face of such reasoning? Shall we make an inventory of all the debuts on Biiillbooaaard?

The fourth to last post, starting from here, to avoid confusion. Or more precisely my fourth or the eighth overall.

You should read my latest post (the longer one) that it seems you skipped over completely.

Phidias, you've "deduced" a bit too much. If you keep this up, you'll say I've offended even the photographer's mother who created the cover. Don't exaggerate. Read my post "amichevolanni'80".
