I don't know the album, but regarding what you say in the first sentence, remember that in '72 THICK AS A BRICK by Jethro Tull was released, a song lasting 43 minutes... and it was successful too...

In my post above, regarding "impressions of September," I add... typically rural and bucolic emotions... and I vote again.

Yes, we really needed this... in the later albums, they sort of rolled into themselves... this one can be listened to all in one go... musically complex but catchy and highly enjoyable... to take a leap into an enchanted medieval atmosphere, populated by princes, princesses, and kings ("dove/quando" and "la carrozza di hans"), emotions along a dewy meadow ("impressioni di settembre") and Dionysian festivities ("é festa")... halfway between Jethro and Genesis... but not much inferior to them.

As soon as I read it, I immediately started downloading the album... I had heard of Jarrett but had never listened to him... this review gave me the necessary push... perfect. Congratulations.

Sorry, but wasn't Gilmour already part of the lineup in the album "A Saucerful of Secrets"? Barrett didn’t appear with the Pink Floyd after “The Piper” (except for the song "Jugband Blues")... By the way, it also seems to me that the vocals in the live version of "A Saucerful of Secrets" are by Gilmour, not Waters... Anyway, it's just my impression; I could be mistaken.
P.S.: The rating for the album is an average between 5/5 for the live part and 3/5 for the studio part.

Has anyone noticed that in "oh larsen b" there's a guitar riff "stolen" from "new year's day" by U2?

a few unnecessary words were fitting, though
