Talking Heads More Songs About Buildings And Food

Well, unfortunately, I can't really answer you because I only know the first 4 albums of Talking Heads plus the live "The Name of This Band Is," so I can't tell you what came after. As for Pink Floyd, rather than commercializing themselves, they became more accessible. However, I really like "Dark Side." Among the three subsequent albums, there are some great songs ("Shine On," "Wish You...", "Comfortably Numb," "Pigs on the Wing," "Sheep," and "The Fletcher Memorial"), but the others are somewhat lacking, maybe yes, too "pop."

just to clarify: the talking heads have little to do with ifloyd, only that piece of artists only reminded me of interstellar... I only know ziggy stardust by bowie and I would say it could be a reference, but not from the rhythm perspective, rather from the melodies.

x killgod: yes, I said I’m funk+new wave, but I didn’t label them strictly... in fact, I think I made it clear that they are eclectic, for example in the reference to Pink Floyd, or when I talk about the last two tracks, electronic to reinterpret soul in "take me..." and country+a touch of jazz in the last one... and anyway, new wave is a pretty generic term, come on (if you think of all the heterogeneous developments it has gone through!) so it’s not such a rigid definition. byebye

I agree with the spirit of the review, but not with the choice of songs... in fact, for me, "sometimes.." and "city.." are the two weakest and most "tired" tracks... maybe it's because they are two singles, and I don’t know, seeing them so often on MTV bothers me, I can't stand it, just like I can’t stand Bono when he goes to the pope or various other things... and he just sings, right?! Anyway, the live show at San Siro last summer was exceptional (4.5/5 I would say), the tracks from this album come alive much better in concert, plus they played three gems from Achtung Baby (zoo station, the fly, and even better if I'm not mistaken) that really got me hyped... they still have the energy, Bono's voice holds up pretty well (I repeat, better live than on the album), maybe a bit of fatigue on "pride," the audience sang more than he did (well, I can give him that, the scream of the chorus of that song at forty is a bit tough).

Thank you for the advice. I listened to it; beautiful album. Not boring at all, though.

There’s a snobbery in here that you can smell even through the computer... computers have come a long way from 1997 to today, huh? (classic joke)

Listen, santibailor, OK Computer is an exceptional album for most people, so if you don’t like it that’s fine, but don’t sit here trying to convince us that it’s mediocre. Enough with the reviews on OK Computer, that’s fine, but enough with OK Computer, no.

Sorry, but why didn’t you give it 5/5? Anyway, I think what you wrote isn’t anything new compared to what was already out there, but I don’t see all this trash perceived by those who commented above... it seems well-written and mostly correct to me (yes, maybe "spensierata" as a let down isn’t exactly right; I’d say rather "liberatory").
