Oh, but when will you understand that it’s impossible to distinguish between innovators and followers when it comes to such a narrow period? In art, everyone borrows from everyone else; it’s a continuous flow where one person’s ideas are picked up and expanded by another, but at the same time, the other influences the first. As Donjunio Neil Young says, that raw sound he had already experimented with in '69 (just listen to “Everybody Knows…”), The Who wrote “My Generation” in '65, before “Aftermath,” the first of Led Zeppelin is from '68... what sense does it make to compare artists? The reviews wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for all these unjustified attacks on other artists (then when you go to discuss people like Zappa, who has very little to do with the Stones, it becomes ridiculous). Too much arrogance.

listened to your advice, lewis, really great, a desolate and dark desert of Nevada

A small clarification: but doesn’t this album come before tonight's the night? The introduction of the review suggests the opposite.

ah neil... for me this is up there with everybody knows and harvest, but it's true that it's probably the most complete, showing us all sides of young. I agree with someone above about the cover: it’s all neil.

I wouldn't say one of the few to be saved (there's the whole new wave....). The album is one of my all-time favorites.

Oh, thanks for the information, I thought it was the one from stills.

But who said that depressed people want to listen to happy music.. on the contrary, I think this is really music for depressed people.

I agree with psychopompe, I prefer the first two (and the first one in particular) by Soft Machine... full of inventions and maxed-out psychedelia. Irrlicht is the classic album to listen to once a year (for me), meaning it’s beautiful; certain moments of "ebene" are truly sublime, digging deep into time and space, a journey toward the distant abyss of the universe. However, frequent listening is too heavy (again, for me). On the other hand, I digest Alpha Centauri much more easily, perhaps because it's more instrumental (the drums and breathtaking flutes in the second track) and less electronic. Anyway, hi everyone, great discussion!

Yes, anyway, if you read carefully above, I didn't say that third is boring, just that it’s heavy all at once. On the contrary, rock bottom seems much more boring to me (and I know this is another blasphemy).
