Which is the best Melvins album to start listening to them?
I’ve never heard a single note, but I’m curious.
The review is too biased and lengthy, but good enough to pique the interest of someone like me who doesn’t know the band.

It took me six months to finish it, as I couldn’t read more than a handful of pages at a time. Some parts are wonderful, others excessively heavy and deliberately overly cerebral. Review model of a mind-numbing exercise that might appeal only to the one who wrote it.

I quote cptgaio from the first to the last word. We probably have about the same age. There's a sense of nostalgia thinking back to how much I loved this book when I read it as a teenager, and even more nostalgia remembering how simple I was at that age. But it was still better than now.

I feel like crying. Wordy? As far as I’m concerned, I would have preferred it to be 10,000 pages instead of 1,000. Each of the 10 reasons you list to justify your unjustifiable 2 is something aberrant and absolutely crazy; I can't even find the words to demolish them one by one. The sum of all the idiocies can be found in this gem: "a very serious writer who, in my opinion, has wasted his talent." Not even the fact that you are 15 years old justifies you, damn it. I feel like crying.
"Not very exciting and so rhetorical: pages and pages to describe a situation. Conciseness is important! Maybe Tolkien stretched it out because he was writing for fun." Good heavens! God forgive them because they do not know what they are doing!
"So much exaggeration about heroism and individuality. My teacher told us that in the '70s, when she was young, some young people had invented 'Hobbit camps' and were imitating the life of Hobbits here in Italy, inspired by the book and the values it references.
