Lord, I urge you to tell me where the chart with the grade equivalents is (du palle C O S I' sta cosa): which of course doesn’t exist.

The review is well written, but I don't share all this enthusiasm. It's a good gothic film, made with taste despite the lack of resources, and it's enjoyable to watch, but overall I lean towards being merely satisfied.

I think there’s that movie, damn, I believe it’s Brokeback Mountain (Brokeback, a title, a program). I literally hated westerns for years (then I had my father who was constantly on my case about westerns, since it was his favorite genre. But does anyone have a father whose favorite genre isn’t westerns?), then I actually started to love it a lot, especially Peckinpah who is pretty much God. Anyway, no doubt about it, westerns are gay; the tougher they are, the gayer they are.
George A. Romero La notte dei morti viventi

very great. I don’t know if I prefer this or the much more splattery Zombie (yes, in the end I'm for Zombie), but anyway, a classic.

Great comparison with Apocalypse Now, I had never thought of that. Amazing film.

great movie, although perhaps not Herzog's best. Kinski immense as usual. And the image of a huge ship climbing up a mountain is not easily forgotten.

"to say what you like," first sentence, damn the missing edit.

You're completely free to say that Lost Highways (like any other film I like; I don't take it personally if someone else doesn't share my tastes). What I find truly irritating, though, is the fact that you carry on like an expert and complain about others' ratings with comments like "2 for Kubrick (because you don't even refer to the film, often and willingly, despite that comment of yours on the Fellini review) and 5 for Blair Witch Project, my God, where are we headed." Yet, you can't even articulate a single cohesive thought. If you want to express your opinion, fine. If you want to bother the next person, that’s fine too, but don’t whine when others respond in kind (if I were to use your expression, I'd say: "my God, but why is there democracy if someone like Poletti gives 5 to Lolita and 2 to Lost Highways," but of course I wouldn't do that because I have a bit more humility). But you know how it is; I have a long memory, and I know how much you enjoy wallowing in these things: you don’t care about talking to others; you just want to be the center of attention, even if it means getting insults. You said it yourself, right?

Now, just to help you grasp the scale of your nonsense: if "Strade Perdute" is self-contained, what about "A Clockwork Orange" and "Mulholland Drive"? And if "Blair Witch Project" isn't cinema, then what is? (Response to Poletti, playing ahead of you: I know the guy who has nothing to say: "A Clockwork Orange is cinema," or an alternative response, with that irritating tone of someone who should know better: "Ajeje, if you don't understand, I'm sorry, but that isn't cinema"). Your two ways of saying nothing. So, just to poke at you, I want to see if by anticipating your standard responses I can draw out some genuine thoughts from you, not the same old rehashed stuff. Otherwise, I’ll start to think you don't understand a damn thing about cinema.
