John Waters Pink Flamingos

What did Waters want to do? Entertain above all, I believe. From what I know, he is the exact opposite of an intellectual (even though he is far from being a fool). However, beyond entertainment, it remains, in my opinion, also beyond the taste for provocation against every form of respectability (which I think is very genuine: that is, Waters and Divine shocked because they were like that, not because they wanted to shock for shock's sake, although they were clearly aware of it), also, as I wrote, a hymn to the most anarchic freedom. With all the contradictions surrounding the concept of freedom and anarchy: after all, I believe it is also a film that, as hilarious and caustic as it is, has very dark aspects. For example, Divine taking justice into his own hands is a disturbing spectacle. It’s a film that, in its entertainment, "smells of death" from beginning to end (and even the chicken doesn’t meet a nice end). Just my mental musings, probably :)

it's up to you, cptgaio, how much you're willing to accept. Because it really holds back nothing. But this remains a TRULY unique film (well, there are the others by Waters), as well as being hilarious.

in what sense "not that big" as many think?
Luciano Salce Il Primo Tragico Fantozzi

I haven't seen him in ages, but the early Fantozzi films literally had me dying of laughter. I agree with all of you, it's satire that is anything but stupid. After how the series progressed, the quality certainly declined, but here...

The absolute masterpiece of excess. A must-see millions of times. Even today it would leave anyone astonished. A hymn to freedom, the most punk film ever made. Fucking Waters, I want to see it all.

Hi Fest! I'm not really a huge fan of Jarmush, but of his works, this is definitely the one I liked the most.

very nice, but honestly the house with the windows is, in my opinion, on another level.

But you see Poletti, I concede that you might be right about me, but the fact that you think a million and more (I don't know how much the "and more" is) individuals living on the same island have the same character says a lot about your way of seeing things. And anyway, as usual, you haven't answered anything regarding the discussion about cinema and films.
