Ah! So you weren't gone after all! Good job, you made me want to listen to it again. Bubi, are you sure that Zeit is "lighter" than this? I remember it the other way around, Zeit is a real weight...

There are two completely opposing schools of thought regarding this film: some say it’s bad because it’s ā€œcrimes and misdemeanorsā€ twenty years later, while others couldn’t care less and find it good or very good. I comfortably align myself with the latter.

a very beautiful review of a milestone and fundamental album that I’ve only recently come to know, even though I don’t quite understand the connection to Coleman’s free jazz, apart from a certain closeness between the artists. Personally, just to throw out a couple of pointless comments, I’m not a huge fan of the voice, but the percussive tracks are a delight.

absolute masterpiece, but also "why spit," "happiness go away," and "you stink" are no less. "Botte" honestly escapes me, how does it work?

I took his favorite albums... well, are they progressive? What does he give them, a 3? No, he gives ridiculous ratings. I guess your theory that he would hate progressive isn’t holding up too well.

Anyway, didn’t you understand what I meant? I simply meant that the "stop consumerism" story is hilarious; it’s nonsense that makes no sense at all, and I don’t know how you came up with that. It’s clearly a line from someone who, quite evidently (to me, since I know the group a little), doesn’t even know what they are talking about. It’s pretty obvious. Who the hell do you think the Residents are, the Punkreas?
And then there are these justifications: you should tell me where you pulled this idea about the Residents "feeling superior" from, because it makes me laugh so hard, but have you even talked to them? Then, "remaking songs in an avant-garde and deconstructive way (for what purpose then)": this one is good too, but I don’t understand why I should even bother to compare ideas with someone who, despite having poorly eavesdropped on something they didn’t like (which is totally fine), still wants to build theories. I mean, it takes guts to say this nonsense and accuse others of superficiality. Oh, I was surprised by the absence of your secret weapon: "too much politics." Why didn’t you use that?

Some ratings by Scaruffi: 8 to Yes, 8.5 to King Crimson, 9 to Phish, 9 to Soft Machine, 9 to Gong, 8 to Dream Theater, 8 to Van der Graaf, 7.5 to Genesis, 8 to Ozric Tentacles, etc. Wow, how he hates progressive! If he loved it, what would he give, 23?
