"his transcendence in the technical and semiotic construction of texts and the overwhelming coherence"... forgive me, but how the hell are you speaking? It’s quite clear that you are making an antithesis to De Gregorius, in fact, my doubt is that you might not be the same person. However, the coherence and integrity of Guccini (whom I highly respect and whose works I know almost by heart) are not enough to make good albums. The last of the major albums is Signora Bovary, and then it’s a downward trend. Oh, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything good in the later works (although Ritratti and even more this DVD are truly lifeless to the power of cubed... damn, he mumbled poorly and almost reluctantly, often in a completely incomprehensible way about songs he is evidently tired of), but giving 5 to this, 5 to Gaetano (for example, I like him a lot too) and 3 to De Gregori’s early albums doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Not even a little bit. Did I dream or did you give 2 to the album of the sheep and Anima Latina? And 5 to this? Come on, come on.

Hal, if you haven't seen it and you get the chance, check out "Il fantasma del palcoscenico," I think it's really beautiful.

Alright, I’ve noticed your rather "partisan" theories regarding singer-songwriters... this live performance is terrible (and I say this as a long-time Guccini fan who was there and if I had the DVD you would even see me in the opening credits). I agree that De Gregori's latest work is certainly not from the '70s, but to give a 1 to De Gregori there and a 5 to this crap is quite a stretch...
