robust tone? no, it’s you who doesn’t know Buckley, and you’re missing out on his live performances, and you're missing albums like Lorca, Blue Afternoon, or Happy Sad where, to use your words, the tone is often "robustissimo", besides being able to reach low and high registers that Mercury didn’t have. Always from a fanatic, clearly.

Sure, hearing Mercury compared to Tim Buckley with such bullshit really makes me laugh. Just to be a pain in the ass, Tim Buckley had about 5 and a half octaves. Then he also had incredibly rich techniques, just to be pedantic and annoying. The story about harmonics is laughable because it shows a complete lack of knowledge about Tim Buckley, who not only reached much higher (and certainly not in falsetto) but also much lower than Mercury and could do a whole lot of things that the other could only dream of. I reiterate, just to be a pain in the ass myself, from a musical standpoint, the comparison doesn’t even stand. Alè.

like miciatigre, but I saw the horrendous Italian version, incomprehensible and extremely boring (perhaps the two things are related). Every now and then I have the thought of watching the original version that everyone says is another planet, but the trauma was great...

Come on, there's no point in being snobbish; it's one of the cornerstones of Italian cinema.

Cool, even if "the best feature film ever to come here from the land of samba," come on, give me a break. In the drug and gangster genre, it's definitely worth watching, though.

I really want to see it again; it's not a masterpiece, but after all this time I remember it being incredibly funny: the phone call with the recorded voices really made me crack up.

Speaking of Italian jazz, I recently discovered (thanks to the excellent Wu Ming 1) the Sicilian Gianni Gebbia, who, by the way, also plays with Trovesi and other talented people like Gaslini in the Italian Instabile Orchestra, and it was a wonderful discovery. A couple of mp3 snippets to get an idea: and

Well, this time I liked you, excellent recommendation for a gem of animation. I would really love to see it again. Regarding animated cinema "finally out of the ghetto of children's films," I would add that it has been out for a long time (a small example: Tell Tale Heart Animation even though clearly the market dictates the rules and only now are certain productions starting to gain visibility.
