CCCP - Fedeli alla linea 1964-1985. Affinità-divergenze fra il compagno Togliatti e noi...

Yes Hanta, without exaggerating and falling into self-satisfaction for what has been studied. If they are functional in the text, I like them a lot; if I find them gratuitous displays of culture, much less so.

In your miseries, you will recognize / the meaning of Arbeit macht frei / grim economy, daily humility / always push you / towards Arbeit macht frei / awareness more and more each time / will make you see what Arbeit macht frei is. Nice text, isn’t it? I believe you know it... it's not exactly linear, is it?

For me, the lyrics of Morire (produci consuma crepa), with references to the nihilism of miiscima and maiacoschi, is a tremendous piece. If you like the lyrics of Arbeit (the song), you can't find a small thing in this...

caz, it's the cut-up, don't fall for it like a salami. Texts don't have to be linear, and Ferretti's have always made sense and are never self-indulgent like Battiato or Marlene; it’s not a gratuitous waste of images, you can find all the references.

I've heard something from Stormy Six, and also from Rocchi solo. Good, but for me they're not up to par.

"but my address is via del sopracciglio destro with all due respect, and other parts, other parts of me" F. De Gregori. "the Poles did not die immediately, and kneeling at the last traffic lights, they were redoing the makeup for the regime's whores, thrown towards the sea, the beggars of soap bars were lying belly down towards the east..." F. De André. Damn, De Gregori and De André wrote like this, not always in an exactly linear way. But putting the words in a row, I swear I didn’t get it, in fact Ferretti seems to me someone who also has a good sense of rhythm with words (like, "Rozzemilia"?). Explain better.

Did you really not enjoy live in punkow? I absolutely love it! I'm pulling out plan B, the "de gustibus." But I believe in de gustibus with reservations; for me, you have a modified gene that makes you detest Ferretti. Okay, he’s not the most handsome, but in my opinion, if you see him on the street (and maybe with Bruss), you start with "I MUST KILL FERRETTI."

I don't agree about the lyrics; the fact that it's the lyrics of a song, and not of a newspaper article, a comic or a poem matters. Context is important... as for the complete meaning, he uses that cut-up technique used by a lot of people, including Dylan and Reed (because if Emilia Paranoica's cut-ups are rubbish, then "Black angel's death song" by the Velvet or "Stuck inside the mobile" by Dylan are without a doubt, too), and for me, he does it masterfully at times (I admit there are ups and downs). Also, I reiterate, it's definitely not all about the lyrics; in a live performance like "Live in punkow," there really is an apocalyptic atmosphere, a piece like "Nessuno fece nulla" is genuinely stunning. It's true there are lesser albums (personally, I find Pgr kind of crap, and I'm less excited about Csi, I like very little of Canzoni preghiere danze by CCCP, and I'm not crazy about Epica etica), but there are great things, and so on...

In fact, a change in metric variation is always a gamble... it's not rap, after all, but it's a reasoning that has holes everywhere and sinks... you might not like his monotone singing, but it's very expressive, from the same school as Alan Vega, Cave, Yow, those who manage to sing great without having a powerful voice.

Caz I forgive you because your prejudices about the CCCP are indeed prejudices. In my opinion, posting the lyrics of a song, without considering the music, doesn’t make much sense; really, I could give you a thousand examples but I’ll hold back. And Ferretti, with his voice with a half-octave range, is also a great singer, take that. :) I just wonder one thing: how can you hate a band because of its name? You hate them because your friends wore the shirt with Che and listened to CCCP. I repeat, the Area were definitely more politically engaged; just think of the Lambro Park, everyone with their fist raised. Also, the lyrics of Frankie Teardrop posted like that, in my opinion, say very little; a song is also about interpretation. But can you picture Alvaro Vitali in Taxi Driver looking in the mirror and saying, "Are you talking to me?"
