1) "The reference to de-gustibus was formal; I was referring to the fact that very often disputes over album ratings end in this manner which I don’t agree with, given that this is a 5-star album, end of story."
"It's a 3, end of story :D"
2) "You lie knowing you’re lying; not all genres in their basic form are trivial. Take progressive, free jazz, etc., which make deviations and indulgence in technical display some of their strengths;"
Electronics is not a genre; there’s drum’n’bass, new age, new wave, kraut, contemporary classical, techno, pop—genres that very often use electronics. So if you tell me that electronics in its basic forms is trivial, you become tautological, not to mention redundant and pleonastic.
Free jazz does not make indulgence and technicality a strength. Sure, Eric Dolphy, Coltrane, or Haden had crazy technique, but Coleman and Ayler were taken literally for their lack of technique, which for a jazz musician becomes a serious inferiority complex, much like a porn actor with a small penis who starred in a film with Holmes.
"All value scales are affected by the same shift from one measure to another; 5 means 9, 4 means 7.5, 3 means 6, 2 means 4.5, 1 means 3, in DECIMALS. If for you 3 means 7.5, I don’t understand how much 5 can be worth. Or rather, how much you can give to an album that you think is terrible. -4?"
"5 means 9" is already funny; if you wanted to make an argument where you did the proportions with decimal ratings, you would have said "5 means 10," my boy. So you also have your own scale of values. I give 1, with only 5 votes at my disposal, to all albums that I think deserve less than 6 (for me, mind you): if you read a negative comment on an album, do you care if it makes you sick, is very mediocre, or just mediocre? Pop nonsense.

The supremacy in dirt, what a story. But is it true that Lennon was the first to ignite his own stinks?

massimof, I could tell you to listen to the rhythm of King's lead hat by Brian Eno from '78...to be or not to be changes something, but not necessarily for the worse: you don't live that particular atmosphere, but maybe you can also be more detached. Or not?

I think there’s a slight misunderstanding: either you change and assign a precise meaning to the number for the vote (for example: two for me means 6, for someone else 4, who knows), or nothing makes sense anymore... I initially didn’t vote also for this reason, because a number means little or nothing and I preferred the comment. Then I started to integrate it with the vote, but are you telling me that only the number matters? Because in the comment I say “sure that Preghiera in gennaio is an absolute masterpiece, one of the most beautiful pieces of his entire splendid discography. Carlo Martello (but is the text by Paolo Villaggio and that’s it, or both?) and La stagione del tuo amore (a very underrated piece, you talked about it wonderfully) are beautiful, and bocca di rosa and Via del Campo (the girl whose name I wouldn’t bet was actually... a girl) are classics” and massimo says that I belittle De André because I give it a 3... I gave 3 to the second Soft Machine which I like a lot... guys, a number is just a number, I love this album, and when I listen to La stagione del tuo amore a tear comes down, but I try to make a comparison with the rest of the music I know, Italian and otherwise, otherwise I’d give 5 to all the albums I’ve devoured and goodnight... if I give 5 to Rain Dogs, even if it has nothing to do with it, can I say that I like this one less? ;) a little more frugality with the 5s doesn’t seem so bad to me...

The rhythm of Cuccuruccucù doesn't seem like a big deal to me, dear Massimo... I'm basically in agreement with Grass, and in my opinion, Battiato emerged because he combined a refined and cultured language, rich in quotations, with very commercial music (from what little I know, La voce del padrone was the first with this type of arrangements). However, aside from the undeniable class of the author (who can't stand new wave and free jazz, which knocks him down a few points in my eyes :D), the music here seems... flat, banal. To give Enea a little food for thought, since he was talking about electronica for pop songs, there's an album he knows very well that is a hundred times better musically, that "before and after science," which is still missing a review. And as for my dear fellone: I passed it on Soulseek, but you were elusive...

No one had ever called me an experimental-viveur, anyway, as far as I remember. Is it a particularly serious insult? Worse than snake face? Or cooked donkey?

What about taste? Moi? I think that taste is half a nonsense? Modest and good? Moi? Let's see: "electronic music in its basic forms is often quite trivial," any music in its basic forms is trivial, even the played one, right? But electronic music can also be a bit more (read immensely) complex. Then, is a 3 sufficient for you? These grades range from 1 to 5; it’s not written 1=shit, 2=poor, 3=sufficient, 4=good, 5=masterpiece. I give a 1 to albums I don’t like, keeping the other grades for nuances, like at the barber. For me, a 3 is a 7-7.5. Is that not allowed? So, I didn’t say it sucks. I said that for me it’s definitely not a masterpiece. And then I know I’m a fool. But as a notorious fellow countryman of yours would say, you missed the mark, you missed the mark. Ah, it’s clear that I know the birds, I vote for what I know: DDD I started voting again because, in the end, for what it’s worth, one expresses what they like more or less, right? It’s part of the game. For me, it’s worth a 3, then if you care so much about raising the average... :DDD

I am one of those idiots, Eneuccio. Beautiful songs, but I find the music very simple and even trivial. I'm interested in discovering Battiato from the '70s, the one who amazed Stockhausen, who apparently even taught him how to read music. The lyrics are beautiful and Battiato is still original. Excuse me? But I won't hurt you anyway because I know I'm a fool.

a friend of mine has a song that says "oca giuliva, sguardo da diva". It's addressed to those girls who, due to excessive self-esteem and self-love, are reluctant to give in. Do you also have the diva look, Oca giuliva?
