Yes, I doubt it's exactly Italian; every now and then I let myself be overwhelmed by the beast within me. Very self-indulgent, very circus-like, yet with class. I remember beautiful Mediterranean Sundance. I recently watched the trio live, and they were elbowing each other and showing off to their heart's content, even Mr. Mahavishnu, whom I adore.

Regarding the controversy between stoopid and geeno, I’d like to chime in and say that giant step has never been one of my favorites as a layman (I’m not disputing its value), while this one, yes, it's a pleasure to listen to. Not to repeat myself (actually I will), but how beautiful is Olè?

Antonio, I don't understand the story about the external labels, I swear. :D Zarathustra explained himself perfectly; let's say I just wanted to clarify that I consider this a classic example of the famous "experimentation for its own sake" just to avoid misunderstandings. Anyway, I've heard it three or four times and I don't feel the slightest need to listen to it again: after all, it might be surprising, but it certainly doesn't evoke emotions (and I doubt there were any intentions in that regard; the game seems quite transparent), which I believe is the purpose of any musical piece. As Zarathustra has already well explained, here Stratos explores the voice; if he makes a mistake, he stops, starts over, and obviously has no scores to follow. Interesting once, stop. Imho. In fact, from that perspective, I believe Stratos' "educational" videos or his live albums where he takes time to explain the techniques and their origins are much more engaging. I don't know if you're familiar with the concert at Elfo when he explains the "pastoral song," which was supposed to have the effect of making the sheep arrange in a circle and fall asleep, and incredible things like that...
