obsessed with Cobain (and the fact that he doesn't want to listen to depressing music), and then he listens to Husker Du, who are basically the fathers of Nirvana, chaotic, dirty, and desperate. Consistency at a thousand.

And why should today be the best and yesterday not? Is it a trend? And then, I forgot, the power and prog metal. 5 genres (well, prog and prog-metal, and power, which are pretty much the same). You listen to just about everything. I mean, for you, music ends with 4-5 things.

Yes, yes, Dave, and you know punk very well (by the way, and I'm not talking about my tastes, I just observe that you speak very highly of Hüsker Dü and very poorly of Nirvana, you talk about instrumental cleanliness as if it were one of the greatest musical achievements, and then just as positively about the Velvet Underground or the early Pink Floyd, (and of course Hüsker Dü) who made a hell of a noise. In short, get your story straight. But for you, are there only three genres? Prog, punk, and grunge?

you’re rambling badly (there was a discussion about punk, in which I mentioned some jazzcore bands without talking about tastes or anything). "And how can punk be understood, Blink 182?" it’s like saying: how can metal be understood, like the dhamm?"

Phidias, the beauty that I couldn't grasp what it was responding to and what thought it was referencing, now even my favorite bands and albums (never mentioned)!

"For 'yours' I mean the overwhelming majority of groups belonging to the genres you have mentioned so far." Excuse me?!

of ours? But what does "ours" mean, oh I can't get it. But ours who? Do you know what I listen to, what Phidias listens to, and what know-it-all listens to? You take it for granted that since we also like the music of the last 25 years, we have the same tastes? That's what I wanted to say with "throwing everything into one pile": and not just the music, also the people, now.

but what fact? the "social distortions," which seem like a line from Sellers in Dr. Strangelove between one Nazi salute and another?

What the hell are you talking about, for God’s sake!
