Go check the reviews of Caravan (and even better, Hatfield and the North, which are one of my favorite prog bands) and see what I say. Not on yours, which I haven’t commented on. That way you can see if I’m cheating like you do, or if I really know the bands I’m talking about.

of ultra technical YOU ONLY KNOW Satriani (again), since Satriani is certainly not as technical as others in this group, like Malmsteen, like the Rip Rig and Panic, like the Birdsong, the Golden Palominos, and Phish. The list shows that: the bands that could play in the 80s are many. It shows that there are bands in this list that are technically far superior to, I don’t know, Genesis? Caravan? Le Orme? among other things, I mentioned all rock bands, but there are new wave, punk, progressive, math, thrash, neoclassical, pop, funky, jazzcore, psychedelia, dub, guitar hero, dark, and singer-songwriters. To debunk your last theory that bands that knew how to play were a rarity in the '80s. Of course, you know them all.
