Ah ok, I didn't understand, basically when you talk about recognizability you mean personality, stylistic signature, originality, right? I was actually very off track.
John Landis The Blues Brothers

a celebration of cinema and music, one of those movies to watch countless times
Nico D'Alessandria L'imperatore di Roma (1988)

It seems to me that, in addition to the praises from Alberto Moravia and the comparisons with Pasolini, Enrico Ghezzi has called it the best Italian road movie of all time (and this statement should be considered in light of the splendid "Il Sorpasso" by Risi, which is one of the best Italian films ever made).
I’ll raise the stakes: despite being shot with practically nothing (4 people on set, apparently—director, his wife, Sperandini, and the cameraman), for its sadness and lyricism, its sense of truth, and its lack of rhetoric, this is the Umberto D of the last 20 years (and probably my favorite Italian film of the last 20 years, at least so far). A beautiful and mysterious nighttime Rome, an exceptional non-actor (Sperandini doesn't play the role of a junkie; he is a junkie, he is simply himself: which puts him above any acting test), a beautiful soundtrack, and along with Pink Floyd, we must not forget "We Can't Imagine" by Tan Zero, a great example of Italian dark wave that fits perfectly. Poetic and moving.

@me I have a penis: Nico D'Alessandria - the director - I think he died 3-4 years ago. As for Sperandini, I don't know what happened to him.

from that point of view instead s4doll, fucking hell. Look at the emperor of Rome to see what a truly "credible" actor is.

I’m curious to see Cigarette Burns, I’ve heard very good things about it. Has anyone seen it?

really beautiful. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Carpenter (when I saw them quite a few years ago, I remember being really disappointed by Escape from New York and They Live, but maybe if I saw them again...), but this is a great horror film, watched recently (thanks Fidia!). After The Thing, this is what I like the most.

this is the tenant on the third floor I like more than rosemary in the madness trilogy (or however you want to call it). The first Polanski is absolutely one of my favorite directors.
