Emerson, Lake & Palmer Works Vol. 2

Indeed, we are not at the peak of ELP's expression. Works II was probably recorded more to keep the brand of a group that was falling apart alive, and the result is evidently proof of that. It was only with "Love Beach" that they hit rock bottom, with the exception of some parts of "Memoirs Of An Officer...". As for the sharp criticisms launched at the group (and what it represented) by some commentators, we're familiar with this pattern. It's not enough for them to simply say, "I don't like this stuff, and I don't like what they do and/or how they do it"; instead, they have to sew on a bothersome anti-group propaganda. I believe that in light of our current days, some of their work may seem dated or excessive, but it is also true that much of their attempt to blend classical music with rock often resulted in wonderful things, and in some cases they still hold significant value. This applies to the Nice, the Moody Blues, and dozens of other groups that contributed to changing and enriching the face of rock in the '70s. It was just a phase, as often happens in artistic forms, but ELP shouldn't be treated with disdain just because they produced some low-quality work like this.

Well, Eliodoro, I would say that after your exhaustive explanation you can tell your guys that you’ve definitely met another "fulminato." Best regards and good luck with your work.

So, dear sheet-metal shredder (nice meta-processing of claisdead), I checked in with my music dealer who is not exactly the last fool when it comes to imports (at least it seems to me). He mentioned it would take THREE (!!) weeks (and he also added the unsettling word "maybe") for the DVD to arrive in stores. I couldn't help but express the word (accia?) "Damn" in his presence. I don’t even know if I’ll still be alive by then. He suggested another DVD from '84 that includes two shows from that era for a pretty reasonable price. Do you know anything? Where did you find this land of the rising sun? My heartfelt compliments for the interest sparked by the card. I would have never suspected it. But I believe that, in reality, it’s your signature that acts like honey for the bees. And I believe I’m right. Let me know, please!

Always curious are the laconically intriguing choices of Sfascia-Carrozze. Laconically intriguing but still interesting. This one comes as a surprise to me, as I admit it’s been a while since I heard anything about the Mothersbaugh brothers, either in discussions or in music. It seems that few, judging by the silence around them, still hold an awareness of the Devo's historical significance. They truly were a game changer, it’s true, and even today revisiting their early work leaves one with a mix of astonishment and amusement. I "dropped" them right after "Oh no it's Devo!". It seemed like their innovative/destroying energy had faded in favor of more electronic-easy solutions. I wasn’t aware of this DVD, but from SC’s description, it looks promising.

No, no problem at all, really, Eliodoro, and you don’t need to apologize. In fact, I thought I understood this, but I wasn't entirely sure. Forgive me if my reply seemed exaggerated, but sometimes I like to "exaggerate a bit"... for the sake of provocation. Now, please explain what attribute you give me for "Fulminati"! Best regards.

3, for my criteria of judgment, is a good grade. 4 is very good and 5 is exceptional or more, usually, so: where is the problem? Vanity? Best regards.

I didn't understand whether the adjective "fulminati" should have a positive connotation or not, and I would appreciate some clarification from the author on this. Personally, I assume that if someone is literally "fulminato," they have had a good chance of passing to a better life, which, frankly, does not seem to be the case for me. At least, I think...
