Once again, the neighbors heard me laugh heartily at the translation of "besselem....besselem...." by Caz. Thank you for your (unpaid) interpreting work. For the past twenty years, I had assumed much darker things (especially now in the wake of the terrorist/defamatory paranoia towards Arabs), but I had never gotten this far from the truth. To Ajeje: I sincerely thank you for the deep, I hope, understanding. It's not easy to find Eddy's material on vinyl. As far as I know, he was mostly a live artist (like his friend-colleague Pippo Trentin, also from these parts: a record with the "Duello madre" by Marco Zoccheddu, I believe in '73, and then primarily live activity). Once, when Area was touring to promote Maudits, they came here, and at one point Stratos learned that Eddy was in the audience. He called him up for a jam. There was quite a commotion (it was an outdoor show) and Eddy "disappeared," leaving Demetrio puzzled and the audience embarrassed. Another time in '75, I believe, at the presentation concert of "La Valle dei Templi" by Perigeo, same story: Giovanni Tommaso, hearing of Busnello's presence, invited him on stage. No luck: he had already vanished. The last time I saw him perform was in a pub, in '87, maybe, with Alberto Negroni on guitar (and then, jamming, Pippo Trentin on soprano). They played standards from the "Real Book"; those who play jazz can understand me. Beautiful things, simple, well played. Eddy was tense, focused, and lyrical. That was the last time I saw him.

I follow Grasshopper's comments, which I must say I always find almost impeccable and knowledgeable. I suspect he's a keyboardist with a classical background (which wouldn't surprise me at all). One critique to his correct observations: There is no choir in the Jerusalem of this album. However, it is also true that being often performed in choirs of religious inspiration (Baptist-Anglican-Protestant), it might have been heard in this version. This isn't the first time someone has said this to me. Regarding the alleged possibility of the "masterpiece" concerning "Karn Evil 9": frankly, knowing it almost by heart, I couldn't imagine (and sing) it without its smallest parts, but this is evidently my oversight. You are probably right.

Great album, wow! This stuff is 36 years old, you know, not just any ordinary thing!

I stand corrected: "un pà stare" should be read as "Un pò stare," of course. stop.

As usual, I couldn’t help but laugh quite a bit at the presence of the outsider Caz. It's true, Stargazer, you messed up badly and he got you straight on that... However, in my opinion, considering the absence of an important chapter in question, we must acknowledge that the reviewer at least addressed it in a somewhat stretched sufficient manner; still, the mistake regarding Fariselli is unforgivable... I hope it was just a "slip of the eye"..... Just one note: there are parts about the unfortunate Busnello that I was lucky enough to know during those years and to see on several occasions (in everyday life, I mean, not on a stage). In recent times, Eddy was really struggling, and given his age, he wasn't very lucid anymore; when he passed away, there was a great sadness here for what he had been and what he had done. Not far from here, every year, right in his hometown, there is (in summer) a commemorative concert, and it’s always an emotional experience. Now, since I read a post mentioning him (a bit heavily), I ask, if possible, to let him be. Even if it might seem funny (and surely it will...) Eddy doesn’t deserve it. Thank you. :-)

I have been a devoted fan of ELP. Back then, as now, I consider the eponymous suite a great thing (perhaps, yes, a bit heavy). I would prefer not to comment on the second side (of the LP back then). For sure, the subsequent "Trilogy" is a more balanced work and one of the most complete and compelling. No one can take away from me that their peak remains, nonetheless, "Brain Salad Surgery". Maybe I'll review it myself...

Despite the series of "critical/vulgar" posts above, I would say that "collecting" 873 views in two or three days is quite an achievement. Punisher, you have talent (perhaps negative, for those "critical/vulgar posts), and the structure of the story (it's definitely not a review in the orthodox or traditional sense) reveals an uncommon ability in storytelling. The intrinsic critique of the character and the system (or systems) that produce him adds lightness and “bitter laughter” to the grotesque and surreal situation. Well done, keep it up if you enjoy doing it. I enjoyed reading it.

It was better than Apicella in a Nanni Moretti film... and in any case, every court has had its own singers and jesters. Here, in the texts, it seems to me that there are even two author-jesters. What more do you want?! Now a larger audience knows that in addition to the worker president, the mason president, and the financier president, there was also the president of popular songs. He, out of shyness, would never have directly expressed it. But now we know that we can redirect the 20 euros we might have spent on, I don’t know, the latest DVD of Peter Gabriel in favor of this Apicella. And I recommend, please, no computers or burners. This little money could help rebuild Italy's sad finances (or are they cheerful?). The serfs of the land, unfortunately, like fools, never die.

Thank you for the tips, Alberta! For a while now, the name Forastiere has been buzzing in my head.
