I haven't read the previous reviews on Rice, but I must say that this one by Mariaelena really pleased me. And also the intimate and delicate "O". The voice is indeed sweet, melancholic, and dreamlike; the arrangements are sparse in their essentiality but simple and moving; the compositions are heartfelt, deep, and often carry a melancholic and evocative flavor; all qualities that are undoubtedly not so common and condensed into a warm, affectionate, and devoted review. Well done (again) Mariaelena.

I largely agree with pier_paolo_farina regarding his statement; that of PFM was not even the only case of this kind. We have often suffered from provincialism, because in the end, this is somewhat what we are talking about; and sometimes, as in the case of PFM (but also Perigeo, Orme, Area), the illusion of a great international circuit quickly dissolved due to inexperience, strategically unforgivable mistakes, and...homesickness. Indeed, a true shame.

@ajeje: you stole one spontaneous smile from me with your "I'm doing my best to vote," really. I also really appreciate your 360-degree listening approach; you always come from here and there, and that's a wonderful thing. I reiterate, it might be a personal "fixation," but this work, at least this one by Blondel (as well as "Grave New World" by the Strawbs, although a bit more folk-rock) deserves to be counted among the "musts" of that period. Provided that you like madrigals, basse dances, lutes, and "court" arias. Best regards.

To start with, I thank the esteemed parliamentarian (in the sense that he speaks with his chin or... lying... I still haven't quite figured that out...) Crucianidante for the greeting he addresses to me, returning it with guts, since my heart is already taken (and my wife is a jealous type...); secondly, I must say that it would annoy me if anyone were to contend with Lord Cruciani and myself for the remarkable Guinness record that has, fittingly (and Crucianly), been defined as "bullshit." Come on guys, one would suppose that the reasons for "clashing" should be quite different and of much greater significance. If Madonna is liked, there must indeed be a reason! Whether it's because of the big dick of the guy that Cruciani cleverly discusses in this witty piece or for his genius (...) musicality, I don't know (and frankly, I couldn't care less), but it's important that tempers don't flare over such trivial matters. And now I'm off to rewatch a nice old movie by Rocco... maybe with the background of God (Ronnie James): Dante, please help us understand this phenomenon in depth, perhaps stopping the reader every quarter of a second, thus taking half a day to fully grasp the wonderful meaning of all this. Thanks for the guts. :)

Gladwin and Wincott's group, in addition to this authentic gem, released at least two other noteworthy albums: "England" and "Evensong." Recently, having shed their period costumes and with renewed vigor, they conducted brief tours in northern Italy and released a delightful double live album in the "glorious" old style. "Fantasia Lindum" undoubtedly serves as their focal point of activity, and Cosmicboy describes its features quite thoroughly. However, it seems uncharitable to consider Blondel the "absolute best in late '60s folk rock"; where do we place the Pentangle or Fairport Convention, for example?

I would say that I find Larrok's intervention and clarification quite appropriate. Thank you. :))

@London: ...it's not always that "everything gets re-evaluated" over time; Ciao 2001 was already quite unbalanced towards somewhat silly music policies and had become a dangerous hybrid of even conflicting trends that were often irreconcilable. "A" was considered a "faux modern" work by a group of "oldies but goldies" and was rejected as such. However, time also rejected the release of Ciao 2001, then.....
