@Miki: a great sign! There's no denying it: A Great sign! So long, friend! And now a little confession, Miki, just because I feel like telling you (with a hint of pride): have I ever mentioned that I bought a Gibson S 1275, double neck 6 & 12 string red, exactly like the one Jimmy Page has?! I think the first thing I tried to play on it was "The Song Remains The Same"; .....after two minutes I had to stop. It was too heavy. The guitar..... :)

@I think I understand: I ask you to forgive me if my tone may have seemed arrogant or sufficiently haughty; that was not my intention. Know, in any case, that even the one writing listens to the musical styles you mentioned (randomly), which demonstrates that Area has little to do with the supposed "problem." I repeat, it’s a matter of education (musical) and tastes. Undoubtedly, the complex mixture crafted by Stratos's group requires elements of decoding that go beyond the ordinary. In Area's sound, in fact, converge elements of rock, jazz, experimental, singer-songwriter, and avant-garde theater; concrete music, free improvisation, sonic and verbal provocations, and an absolute thought of freedom that governs the entire project. As already mentioned, it’s not for everyone. However, don’t give up; there are even more complex things in music. But one must have patience and... ears. Best regards. ;)

@No, but I want to understand: Let's see if we can make it clear... First of all, I would say that no one ordered you to listen to Area, and not understanding what they do is neither a problem nor a fault. Then: there is nothing written anywhere that you should like them. Frankly, with the enormous mediatic leveling in music that we have been spectators of over the last twenty years, I can understand how at your age you might find the group boring, tedious, I mean, everything that could be the worst; then: out of curiosity, I would like to know what the musical parameters of possible reference would be, if any; in two words: what do you usually listen to? To finish, one consideration: Area is not (and has never been) for everyone: the listener who approaches them usually possesses a cultural-social-political background and a musical analysis capability of considerable substance. This needs to be placed and contextualized at least in the time they were active (the 70s) to fully understand the meaning and direction of their work. Now, I ask you: are you aware of these things? Do they interest you? Do they make any sense? Because it’s not like, for example, I pick up a newspaper or a magazine and everything is fine, and then by chance I start reading the Divine Comedy and come out saying that I don't understand it—what's the point? What do others find in it, etc.? What I mean is: certain things or articulated and complex phenomena should be studied. Listening to and understanding the musical language is also a matter of music education; it needs to be refined, guided, followed. But I repeat: there is nothing written anywhere that Area is a group for you.

Alright. Understood! Thank you. And now we’re waiting for a nice smile from Miki, so we can definitely change the tone. Miki, are you there? :)

Let's try with this alternative team: Alvaro Vitali, Pamela Prati, Christian De Sica (not Boldi because he’s too good...), Valeria Marini, Serena (boobs) Grandi, Marina Ripa di Meana. The latter could add an unexpected touch of class (perhaps the fourth or even the fifth element) to a team that I frankly consider unbeatable. I was also thinking about Arcuri... but I think she wants too much money... and in my opinion, she wouldn’t be able to grasp the spirit of the title "Like A Virgin". And you, Dantuccio, any suggestions? :)

I'm no longer a complete newcomer and I don't just listen to rock anymore, but I must say that this band has a very unique character. For a couple of years now, I've been collecting all their works (including the DVD "Lamentations"), and thanks to the "assistance" of Steve Wilson, I regularly follow Mikael Åkerfeldt's activities. I also confess that for the average reviews in this "genre," we are witnessing an examination carried out in an exemplary, cultured, and very pleasant manner, so kudos to OzzyRotten. "Blackwater Park" undoubtedly constitutes one of the peaks of the band in a certain direction; personally, I have a particular fondness for "Damnation"; but maybe it's due to my age :)

I have known that the anglo-saxon notation was like that since I started playing, and I thank you anyway for informing me of something I was already aware of. In fact, I will confess that Joni Mitchell, John Martyn, Leo Kottke often played in so-called open tunings like DADGBE or DAGCBE or even DADGBD. I apologize again for my foolishness, but I humbly follow up with the question: what does it mean "better E minor or A minor?"
