Mark Lanegan Band Here Comes That Weird Chill

It's fine to fall in love with the album, but what about the merits of the "good reviewer"? Give Lanegan what belongs to Lanegan, give the reviewer..... nothing, thanks! :-)

As per the script... I listened to Ciddì in full today (but only once), enjoyable listen, nothing new, little to no Jewish tradition, ultimately I left it where it was. In return, I bought Ilya, Air, and the beautiful CD by Sophia (as suggested by kosmo). I don’t hold back in having already spent a fortune; at the newsstand, I grabbed Maus and secured a ticket for Mogway, but I need to decide whether to buy it or not, I have some doubts.

Let's clear any doubt, to the insistence of someone who says "..come on, tell me what it's like? no one is reading now anyway.." (tze!), I replied that the guinea fowl is definitely the one in the photo and it's photogenic and NOT "JUST PHOTOGENIC". Elsewhere, to the same persistent question, I replied that I would give a 5-star rating to Turkish, so dear spy, keep your eyes peeled and everywhere! Then Cleo, don't complain about the mess that comes up if you have throngs of die-hard admirers everywhere!!! My reaction is obviously pure envy :-)
Cristina Donà Live al "La Gabbia" di Bassano del Grappa (VI) – 10.01.2004

Seen this summer in Verona, with a 4-piece band, one of whom is the French producer of the latest album, which is stunning. If I had known he was playing in Bassano, I would have come too, and instead I only made it to Bassano 4 days later. The concert in Verona was not intimate, quite the opposite. I really like her a lot, even as a "type"; too bad about the ring on her finger; to see it (the ring), I was almost on stage. "Dove sei tu" along with Morgan's album are for me the best Italian works of 2003.

I have this album and I think I’m among the few around here who do, and I even gave it as a gift for Christmas, but I must say that while it’s not bad and has some truly remarkable moments, overall it bores me; in fact, I already took it out of the car player (200km a day, all the albums have to pass the test, I even burn vinyl just to listen to it in the car).

I also trust Hal's opinions a lot, as I consider him the de-baseriota closest to my musical tastes. Like him, I was curious to get this highly praised ciddì everywhere, but since I've been reading all the reviews on an album for a few months now, if the aforementioned doesn't pass the de-baser test (review + comments), I’ll keep my 20.60€ in my pocket. Thanks, Hal, you deserve a 10 euro beer.

Dear Maynard, what you wrote could be paraphrased like this: "A dove increasingly sick flies aimlessly, lost in the emptiness ahead. It flies more and more disoriented, and if you look at it, you say: where does it want to go?" In short, you wrote that there is no peace among men, let alone revolution; this is mere banal ultra-conservative verbiage. (But even my comment as verbiage isn't bad!) :-)

Where the review could not, the comments succeeded!

I would shift the debate about Nirvana to the comments on a review of one of their albums; if I want to read about Hüsker Dü, why should I primarily read about Nirvana?!
Anyway, this album, which should be listened to exclusively on vinyl, is beautiful, angular, and when I bought it, right after its release, it was also unique (at least for me).
But what made me love this album the most is the statement from the band's leader, who asserted that every revolution must begin in front of the bathroom mirror of one's own home! It's not Pasolini, but it holds great meaning nonetheless.

I was there, I managed to smoke a joint before King Kong showed up, and I spent €25 because I didn't buy the ticket on tiket one, and I took photos with Cleo and G, and that's enough for me. On the other hand, the concert was super short and identical to the last album (so what's the point of going to see a band live?), they play well, nice and clean, and that cocky dude in his birthday suit even sings well, but please, let's not pretend he's some big star who looks down on his audience (for a fan, everything is allowed), but to me and others who go to see him to gauge his actual stage-musical value, don't mess with us! In fact, for part of the concert, I gladly went upstairs to have a gin and tonic with the bartender. I was already not thrilled by all these big guitars and epic shouting from the day after, but now he can go back to being the American joker, who in between the concert and the CD robbed me of €50!
