Dead Can Dance Into The Labyrinth

But what is this primal love for Dead Can Dance?
For restless souls, deep women, and those who recognize their dark side as an important part of themselves to engage with, it’s crucial to leave behind certain ancient ties and find flashes of intense light in records that they cannot help but love deeply, like the one by Madredeus that’s spinning around me today.
There are music styles we’ve loved and to which we still feel attached, especially because they helped us grow, and with them, we’ve reached even more intense sounds that come from the history of music and the heart of the people, like Portuguese fado, of which I have a late but vivid infatuation.
At least that’s how I see being in love with music.

So I also read this "diariata" about the Rava concert.
And it makes me even more irritated thinking about the moment I stood in front of the Philharmonic ticket office and found that damn sign: "SOLD OUT".... only now I realize it referred to me and my chase this year behind Rava's concerts and the like. But next Monday there's Paolo Fresu, and if I miss that too, then I might as well emigrate to Sardinia to join my friends from de-baerioti jazz!

Let me say it, dear foschid, your skin is sunburned, yes, but from the rays of the sun! :-)

Disc and review with a full score, review included among my recommendations, while the album has been in the pantheon for many years.

Good job, a really nice review. The album (if we look at its origins) isn't all that original, although I don’t mind that. In the end, I prefer Morgan as a solo artist, less tied to the obligations of a rock sound, more introspective even in his music, and honestly, I think that’s a dimension that suits him better.

I was born in the Marche region, but over the past 16 years, time and my desire have taken me around Italy. Regarding the shadow, I’ve already given a syncretic (but mostly succinct) answer to Fosca in a private email, because the shadow approaches you, sometimes permeates you, but almost always accompanies you without darkening your path, and that is the objective I feel the need to aim for. Of course, writing posts like this makes me feel quite the loser...

The concept of shadow is one that fills me with thoughts...
Eleni Karaindrou Trilogy - The Weeping Meadow Film By Theo Angelopoulos

Hal, you are a "magister sassarensis," musically you grew us by ear but by a mile!
I don't know the record, but I've always been captivated by Angelopoulos' films; every time is a trip.
If you take a van, don't forget the must-stop in Verona and Bolzano on the way to Berlin.
Ah Francè, are you cloning me?! Conservator of cultural heritage, Francesco, de baser... same degree, same name, and same hangout spot, tell me you also sell books and I'm sure they've already cloned the first human being!
David Sylvian & Robert Fripp The First Day

"Gone To Earth" is by far the most beautiful album by David Sylvian. It seems strange to me that you are criticized for this, while the episode of Rain Tree Crow didn't resonate with me at all. If they wanted to revive the glories of Japan, that was not the way to go, in my opinion.
For me, Sylvian has made two stellar albums: the double "Gone To Earth" (by far) and the penultimate one with the brown/bronze cover, the title of which I can't remember in the bookstore, but anyone who knows Sylvian has surely understood.

Was this the famous Easter review? Very beautiful, both her and the album. Back then, I was overdosing mainly on Cocteau Twins and darkish atmospheres in general.
Well done, foski.
