This album is great; did you know it’s made by the same team as Tom Waits? You can really feel his influence in the sounds. I instantly liked this dirty folk-blues, but I have to say that on the second listen, I felt boredom prevail due to its monotone quality. Perhaps I should have listened to it more attentively in the details, or maybe it just came my way on days not particularly suited for dirty folk-blues. The view of Milanese life inside the inner ring road from the balcony on the seventh floor is beautiful.

In a previous review, I had labeled them the "poor man's Coldplay," and I experienced the album as Hal, but then I saw them at Interzona this winter (remenber K?) and I liked them incredibly, re-evaluated (but only live) to the max! In Verona, after some serious insistence from the audience, Sheppard came out with just his voice and guitar, and it was incredible after they had performed an energetic encore like at the other concert mentioned by Daniele, one of my concerts of the year. The same cannot be said for the album, which is arranged too monotonously.
