Bebel Gilberto Tanto Tempo

Finally, a review on Brazilian music, which has always been unjustly snubbed here. Gilberto's latest album is very beautiful too, but this one might be superior, and his strength also comes from his American years, with their influence clearly felt in his ability to modernize his original music genre (prental and the like). Lastly, Celso Fonseca is now a great artist; his latest album stands head and shoulders above all Brazilian records from the past year, and it hasn’t left my player’s playlist for months.

Hi Hal, I had originally read this review but I didn't know the musical content. Now the record has been in the player for months, and I've seen more concerts by Bollani (both solo and otherwise), the last one in Gubbio, and it thrilled us both, due to Bollani's incredible talent and the incredibly comical flair that came out of the show he held together with Banda Osiris. It couldn't have been anything but fun anyway!

The DCD have been important in my musical economy, but I have always preferred Elisabeth Frazer with her ethereal and hieratic voice. For me, the absolute in the genre, beyond many good albums, remains "Victorialand", although this one is also excellent.

But what is a "disco alle intenzioni"? It could be a thousand things, but maybe it doesn't truly become any of them, or instead it embodies all of them?

Sometimes you tease me and sometimes you torment me, I thank you not just for your kindness. Gentle and courteous is your bourgeois nook, where I'd gladly settle for a month in thought!
But I know for certain, that kindness can turn to harshness if the ungrateful guest knows how to transform into sadness the joy and pleasure of having given him a small bed to shelter from the breeze! Thank you nonetheless for inviting me to your little nook with a rhymed gesture...

You are always the best, always undisputed choices; you manage to turn deb into what I, out of negligence, only dare to think. Well done!

I live inside your lair and I am cunning, which if it weren't for this perhaps for something else, I think I would definitely listen to something else! But it is neither for joy nor for anything else that I write and boast within your narrow but comfortable cave.
But I hope you haven't mistaken me for some anonymous other!

I listened to this album a few times, actually just once, and that time I really liked it... or did I like it that time?! Hmm, I don't remember!
So, was Giova in Urbino at the scene of the crime? What courage! In the latest Frequenze disturbate (2003), La Crus was drowned in a tsunami of boos, not without reason, because their very mediocre album had just come out, the one with the new jacket, just to be clear (listen to the song by Paolo Conte on the same theme and you'll understand the difference in depth).
But here I am, with a calendar of Ferilli in my room, on the nightstand "va dove ti porta il cuore" by Tamaro, a painting of Teomondo Skofalov (the one with the glass in hand, just to clarify), and a holy card of Padre Pio from Pietralcina pinned behind the door with a thumbtack, which every time I open it makes him do the wave because of the air movement while I kneel in ecstatic vision. Will I ever aspire to become a ROCKSTAR? ...no way!

But do you have this record?
Which record?
Yeah, the one by Sergio Caputo!
Whaaaat???
SER-GIO-CA-PU-TO! Do you have Caputo?
Me?! NO, I haven't figured anything out!
Well, it means you must have forgotten about him with the '80s.
Oh yes, the '80s! ...sorry, I don't remember!

Sure, Mr. Enkriko, you really shouldn't be too upset; I only now understand why you write so many conceptual atrocities: you have a spiteful and lice-ridden aunt, a cat you describe as intelligent to the point of offense, a LITTLE DICK that has long since been beaten down from being slammed against record covers (after all, everyone freely chooses where to slam it), and lastly, crystal balls— in short, a so-called man with balls, but fragile ones! Now don't tell me GO READ ALL MY REVIEWS! and then the comments and then the forums, because I've read almost all of them and never felt like responding just to mess with you; I didn't think it was fair. However, ever since you started doing it yourself, I couldn't help but point it out—you're a riot, my friend! (sorry for the word friend). I almost forgot: the CCCP, the CSI, and the PGR have always been fantastic for me, and this is coming from someone who (if your judgment is somewhat political) is considered among those who "lean to the right" around here.
