The CCCP, together with the Litfiba of that time, were my favorite bands, and "spara juri" was the track I would open all my DJ sets with. Damn, I had so much fun and what music! Today’s Ferretti is a faded memory, converted to a new creed and other prayers in the third millennium. And Zamboni got lost with Nada. Well, too bad.

I also prefer this album to "centro del mundo," acknowledging it as more monochord, less arranged, and more immediate in production. I like it more for its decidedly hieratic mood. Like Cleo, I love this band for a bunch of good reasons... starting with the cellist (whom I will NEVER meet thanks to a friend!)

"Horse & Fish" in my opinion is a fantastic album, this one's a notch below, but I admit I've listened to it only a little. Vinicius Cantuaria is truly a Selecao of music, yet he's opposed by the purists of Brazilian music precisely because of the contaminations you mentioned. Right now, actually for over a year, I've been listening a lot to Celso Fonseca, who is a bit more tied to tradition compared to Cantuaria, but is a young and extremely talented singer. I also send my regards to the person who introduced me to Cantuaria, namely Emily, a debaseriota with surprising and hidden expertise; it's a pity she's disappeared from the scene and from the site.

Truly an inspiring review, and I find the album comparable because while the river flows, I am instead still on the shore of the lake, watching the waves fade against my feet. I too love Kosmo who loves Nick who loves all of them who love, and like Kosmo, I am on the bank of a lake.
