A record with beautiful arrangements, but overall, among the ten songs, it shows some strain; nonetheless, it features some lovely moments that, unfortunately, are not supported by the entire ensemble.

An essential film for all the Italian neorealism that was to come. In my film history exam many years ago, I told the professor about a film that struck me because the protagonist declares himself to be from Senigallia (my hometown), and it was the first time I heard it mentioned in a film, especially one so important. Autobiographical notes aside, I consider this one of the most psychological (and not convoluted!) films I have ever seen.

But really, you still haven't given me this album... are we waiting for my birthday?
Gino Paoli Milestones

For me, this has been one of my personal summer albums, beautiful, with impeccable performances, a truly grand "senza fine," just as the original is, as well as for "il cielo in una stanza." A special commendation goes to how the evocation of the sea has been resolved in "sassi." I also find "la gatta" rather modest and that there is a lack of a queen who could have given a more original sense to the solutions found. However, I believe that the limitation of this album lies precisely in Gino Paoli's voice, the value of which I do not dispute—perfect for the original versions of the songs, but insufficient for these jazz interpretations. In other words, a great POP voice, indeed, along with a few others, the most beautiful Italian singer-songwriter pop voice, so clean, without fluctuations, always right but not characterized for a jazz album, which, to make myself clear, would require the hoarse darkness of a Paolo Conte or the depth (not sublime, although excellent) of a Biondi, and so on...

I’m not very interested in preaching to others, especially to those I don’t know, but it saddens me to constantly read so many beautiful words, with so much nice support that goes no further than criticism. I find a concert like that an interesting initiative because it brings people's attention to the issue; it’s undeniable that there’s a marketing action behind it. Just as I find it annoying that Bono thinks he’s a guru saving the world; I’d prefer if Bush did it instead of sinking it further, but Bono, in his role, has made many writings and discussions happen on the themes he so passionately advocates... I won’t deny that it earns him global popularity, and good for him if he manages to achieve something.

And so the beloved Hal has already ascended to the figure of "favorite"... oh dear!!! We are one step away from debaserian quiescence then. Well done Hal, great review!

You are good and commendable because you certainly do your part, but if you were a little less conventional, you would also be a little more credible. Just like all of us at home, you'll be full of CDs (perhaps downloaded), you'll go to concerts to mosh at the front paying 30 or 40 euros like almost all of us, and you'll drink Coca-Cola, just like we've all done at least once... remember that revolution starts in front of your bathroom mirror.

This album struggles to convince me; I've listened to it a few more times and let's say that at first glance, I found some similarities, but of a second-tier nature compared to the previous one, and those faded with subsequent listens. Perhaps, though my judgment remains suspended, it’s too arranged; the extreme attention to detail makes it lose some freshness. Definitely not an easy album for distracted first listens; particular attention should be paid to the lyrics and their "compositional play."
