By the way, easycure, I don't know if you've noticed, but try listening to the beginning of "spirit..." and that of the song "The Final Cut": they are practically mirror images.

That's exactly the point! There can be double bass outbursts for hours, solos at 230 bpm, hyper-high and precise vocals, but the fact remains that a song like "The Spirit Carries On" has a chord progression similar to "Are We the Waiting" by Green Day (true, I didn’t make that up). If they put technique in the background (as many artists who are far more technical than DT do), they would surely be more enjoyable. A SONG CAN MAKE YOU EMOTIONAL EVEN IN ITS SIMPLICITY.

Come on! Are you really getting worked up over this stuff? This is a forum where we just mess around, it’s pretty clear by now. Jokes aside, it’s pointless to fight over these silly things; I’ve always joked and laughed even at the harshest responses I got, and I hope everyone else has too... if not, then it’s you who needs to wake up.

Anyway, 3/4 of the grade are for historical importance, the work itself is nice but nothing special compared to causes of death, a bit like the comparison between "show no mercy" and "reign in blood," or between "the piper.." and "dark side of the moon." Anyway, it's very raw and there's a lot of moshing.
