I'm glad that my de-review might bring someone closer to this band and push someone else away! I must say I'm happier to push people away! (Just kidding, of course).

The cover of Tower of Song (originally on I'm Your Fan... a tribute album to Leonard Cohen) is, on the other hand, one of the ugliest covers ever created (this one is truly just shameless... moreover, it's not spontaneous, forced, and perpetually over-the-top... in short, they've ruined a masterpiece). Fortunately, on that album, there's also the version done by Robert Forster that does full justice to Cohen's great song!

In my opinion, the cover of What a Wonderful World is the best cover done by Cave (and Shane McGowan). What annoys you are, for me, the strengths of this version! I wonder how you can listen to Tom Waits if the boozy atmosphere bothers you!
