Dear anonymous, I'm speaking about rhythm, not about what they represent... and honestly, I don't need you to explain to me what they represent (and in any case, you’re wrong!)

They are great, but they've never really "connected" with me!

Well, for someone it wasn't very refreshing!

Nashira, I'm sorry but I let myself get carried away by my love for the cinema. Hal is right, his theory is clearly demonstrated in Full Metal Jacket! The first part is dynamic and the second is extremely slow! The rhythm is essential: all great directors know how to use it flawlessly, and Kubrick is one of them... but so are Lynch, Cronenberg, and Kitano, who are masters at "slowing down"... but there is always a sense to it! A film should be viewed from different angles and perspectives if you love cinema… if instead someone is just looking for a pastime, to see a nice story, drink some cola, and eat some popcorn, then I agree with you… however, in this case, we're no longer talking about cinema!

Thank you Nashira.. you are right, I will try to be kinder!

Well, kosmogabri, the b-sides can also be sweaters made by grandma from leftover yarn, but sometimes they are excellent sweaters! There are absolutely perfect albums conceived as a collection of singles, and the b-sides that surpass the collection itself, becoming complete albums as you say... for example, Louder Than Bombs by The Smiths is one of those or the stunning Bona Drag by Morrissey! The problem with this, however, is that Nick Cave leaves out the best stuff, with the exception of the old collaboration with Shane, for which I’ve already expressed my opinion on one song (provoking, alas, a small controversy)... I know I'm biased and I realize that someone like Shane may not appeal to everyone, but I adore Shane McGowan!

Kubrick's films boring? But listen, nashira, you don't like cinema, that's why you find them boring... speak for yourself, they're hard to digest for you. I assimilate them with ease. Speak for yourself, nashira, or talk about things you know so you might even make a better impression!

Dear anonymous ones (both the "astonished" and the "foolish"), if you read the comments carefully, you will notice that I was the only one leaving comments about Nick Cave's album and music, and I don't think this is being a nuisance! Furthermore, this was an opportunity to discuss the music contained in this album and perhaps compare other covers done by the great Australian singer-songwriter, instead of dismissing my comments (or ironic questions) as unintelligent (just because they did not align with and clashed with the taste of the reviewer!) and letting the discussion drop with irreverent responses in a sarcastic tone. Of course, I reacted and exaggerated (and I apologize if this hurt the sensitivity and fragility of certain de-baseriani), but I was provoked, and luckily Hal admits this too, and I thank him for it!
