beautiful writing, moving and sincere to one of the most talented authors of the last twenty years. Right now I’m listening to his solo album Horsebreaker Star, an album to rediscover, a real gem, catchy, intelligent, seductive with a folk-country undertone that makes it irresistible. Listening to his music is the only way to keep alive the memory of a man whom the musical mainstream has always sidelined. A tribute to the career of this great songwriter.

Then we all agree that prices are too high, but that's not the case here since the title in question is out of print, so the best thing to do is to try to have the record reprinted, perhaps with a petition like what happened for On The Beach, for example.

Odradek, I don't want to presume anything, I just replied to your post that assumed I hadn't understood, but I hope I have reassured you on this matter. You've already said a lot about the record, and I really like everything you've said except for the invitation to piracy. You know, besides being a music lover like you and many others, I'm a collector and I spend time and money on music. Maybe I'm a fool, but I don't consider records to be fetishes; rather, they are precious objects.

I had understood Odradek as well, your main flaw is that you think you’re too smart. I was simply referring to the poor taste (in my opinion) with which you concluded the review; let’s say that perhaps it would have been better to make the final considerations in a post. For me, it would have been better if the review ended with that "tonight he did it." It was just my take. Then, I know very well that no one said it’s the only treasure of Cale's discography; it was just a comment to make it clear that Cale (to those who don’t know him, and they seem to be many!) has made a lot of beautiful records, but your sensitivity, as usual, took a simple comment in a critique, instead of discussing how Cale arrived at this album through a series of incredible, obscure, paranoid, and angry albums that culminated in the splendid live sabotage.

Beautiful album by Cale, but certainly not the only dark gem in his discography. A review made up of feelings, beautiful, too bad about the ending; an album like this is always better to have in its original form.

It is truly sad; all we have left is to listen to their albums and those he made as a solo artist, proud, radiant, and alluring records.

Punisher, you really shot yourself in the foot there—what do the U2 have to do with this? Let's stop it; it seems that whenever Eno is involved, comparisons to the U2 pop up from those who don’t know music very well... If you really want to make a comparison, you should mention "Wrong Way Up," the beautiful album Eno did with John Cale. Sure, it's not as good as that one, but it's certainly not bad. It's also true that "Te stelle" is a good judgment; however, from the way you talk, it seems like you and Hal have judged this work a bit too superficially. It's a mistake I often make myself. De-Baser could sometimes help remedy these situations (though maybe this isn’t the case; after all, tastes are tastes), but it's definitely not a bad thing to talk about it.

sorry for the grammar but I’m drunk!

Punisher says that the cover needed the shape of Eno... however, out of eleven, he only wrote three tracks from the album, obviously the only three that Simon doesn’t write by himself... it seems a bit exaggerated to make such a statement... the album itself deserves more listens than a single attentive listen while browsing through any record collection, as in the case of Hal, and to him, I say thank you for having "forced" me to listen to Capossella's album "Ovunque proteggi" from a different perspective and letting it sink into my soul. Thank you! So Hal, I tell you that maybe you are right, but this Simon album needs to be listened to multiple times, which on the first listen seemed very interesting to me (with songwriting of excellent quality as always). It’s clear that it’s not a simple album, but it’s still very captivating, as it’s clear that the cover is horrible!

Beautiful review for one of Zorn's many masterpieces.
