the best of the rolling stones.

beautiful concise review, clear and straight to the point, for one of the most cult debuts in the history of music. 4 stars are fine for this LP especially when compared to the albums that will follow, but personally, everything that Shane has done deserves the highest marks.

adamwest I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the one who is confused is you, and quite a lot. First of all, the singer you are talking about has nothing to do with country music, and he was a decent bluesman from the 1950s onward. It can be said that most of this album's sessions are from the '70s. He should not be confused at all with Jimmie Rodgers, who is at the roots of country and blues and was active from 1927 to 1933, so I don’t see how he could have been a pop singer in the '50s/'60s considering he’d been underground for twenty years. It's a pity because the review isn't bad and is also interesting, but certain mistakes...

The (mini) album is not bad. It contains some nice songs. Their masterpiece remains You Turn Me On, and I recommend following the Dub Narcotic Sound System, Calvin Johnson's other group.

Punisher, you can review whatever you want, for goodness' sake! You can even review a compilation of your songs, or music, call it whatever you like: prefer it! But at least give it substance, and I repeat "substance!!!". When I wrote in the first comment "it's just form and nothing more" I meant that what you wrote with Sakamoto's music had little to share; it was just form, cold and devoid of the passion that truly captivates so many music lovers. Do you understand? If you don't, you're hopeless. After all, you proved it even with a masterpiece like Love and Theft. Spitting out negative comments just because you feel like it is not a sign of intelligence; you have demonstrated to be even more foolish than I thought you were (maybe you're not, maybe you just like to provoke, but you lack the ability to do so!). Feel free to free whoever you want; if they’re your friends, there's nothing to be afraid of because, after all, you make me laugh, and anyone who makes me laugh is always likable to me. However, I absolutely must renew my vote.

Listen, don't play smart; everyone has seen through your bluff. The record in question is not part of Sakamoto's discography (even though it takes the cover from Smoochy), which I know very well. I always vote for the record (or rather the music that I know well, if this anthology's track list is accurate) and never for the name. I'm sorry for you, but you've really got it wrong on all fronts. Your theories might be valid, I don't know, but you certainly haven't proven anything. It seems to me that the one who doesn't know the music, but just the names, is you. I renew my vote for the review, not for the music contained in this unofficial anthology of Sakamoto that I don't know.

beautiful but useless, a long round of words, but where is the substance? and why only two stars, if the review makes it clear that it's a 5-star album? maybe it's better to write the review in solitude, you, the album, and nothing else. Beautiful but useless, beautiful? well, thinking about it, it's not even that beautiful, it's just form and nothing more.

Very beautiful, I like how you described the songs. The only thing missing is that you could have said more about the Dust Brothers, co-authors of all the songs on the album, with their sounds and samples. For example, the fairytale music box in "jack-ass" is nothing but a reworked version of Bob Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" by Them... the whole album is contaminated by sounds and sampled records from the '60s and '70s.

Badalamenti is not an Italian composer; he is an American composer because he is American. Apart from that, nice review.
