@The_ghetto...as for the stinginess regarding the artist and the work, I refer you to my comment number 4. Just look at how many views this record has received. Regardless of my review, it's a ridiculous figure.
Portishead Third

Far from considering myself a musical connoisseur, I've merely expressed my point of view. Perhaps I've loved Dummy too much, and as I say in the review, trip-hop has unfortunately had its time. The Portishead have understood this and have served up something entirely different. The only star, if you read the review, is more controversial than anything else. I can accept that the review is divisive, but that it is incomprehensible, no. I'm sure other long-time fans of Portishead think more or less like I do.

It almost seems that speaking highly of a contemporary album implies devaluing the records of the past. Nonsense was made back then just as it is now. Perhaps today there is more of it because production has increased a hundredfold compared to 30/40 years ago. For the record, the track I can tolerate the least is Bright Lights, but it depends on my idiosyncrasy, except for rare cases, towards excessively elongated tracks.

I thought I was the only one with this album. The most natural comparison that comes to mind is with Morcheeba, even though Skye and the gang were a step ahead. Two, in the case of "Big Calm." It's true that you can also hear something of EBTG, especially in "You Are Nothing" and even more so in "Safer Hands." Still, it's enjoyable to listen to.

If everyone is against you, it's easy to conclude that you're the fool. If everyone agrees with you, it's just as likely that there's falsehood, hypocrisy, sycophancy, or selfishness (and the more, the merrier) in others' judgments. However, if your criticism manages to divide people, with some aligning with you and others taking different paths, then it's highly probable that you've hit the mark you set out to achieve.
In any case, we will see if in five, ten, or fifteen years Portishead will be remembered more for Dummy or for this Third. Thanks to everyone, even to those who rated me 1 without even reading the review, and also to those who more or less openly told me to go screw myself.

A heartfelt thank you to those who attended. Regarding the 'dirty sound' or 'clean sound,' honestly, it's not a detail that struck me. In any case, I don't believe that the previous album (or even this one, if you think it has a dirty sound) was poorly produced. It’s plausible to think it was a deliberate choice. But isn't Valium used as a sleeping aid or something similar? That was my reference in that regard (for those who know Polyphonic Spree).
Pet Shop Boys Being Boring

Are you crazy to be dealing with this stuff on these pages? Here you should at least be talking about the Turquoise, the Open Mind, the The Fields, the Clear Light, the Les Fleur De Lys, the Misunderstood, etc. etc.

I was waiting for this review because I was curious to see what it would bring out. Indeed, PLAY was a great album, but it had gotten rather complacent, recycling itself. It seems to be on the rise again. Nice review.

A couple of things: the review sheet states "year 1998." This album is from 1990 (the review cites the exact year). Unfortunately, very often the dates on the review sheet are incorrect. I suppose they list the date of the reissue, but the date of the first release should be indicated. The Baustelle copied the cover: they changed the eye (from the right to the left) and added color, but it is essentially almost identical. For me, and not just for me, the flagship track of the album is "There She Goes," no discussions.

Does that look like a cover to send? Did you make an effort to find it that ugly?
