The Ray Brown Trio Soular Energy

I had read something like that about the longevity of CDs too. It gave me a shock! The first CDs I have date back to 1983. So that’s around 25 years. I went to listen to them again and for now they still sound like the first time. But even those from 1984-85-86, etc. Let’s hope it’s a hoax.

@MICHOOS WHAT: this kind of alternative is of a completely different kind compared to Jane's Addiction. If you feel like going back to my profile soon, I’ll repost my 31 foreign albums. @ORWELL: don’t you remember the record? But it just came out last May! Uhm, memory issues?!? @CPTGAIO: The first Blackfield album sounds to me like a homework assignment. Formally correct but lacking in substance. The second one is better, although this school-like aura still remains in my opinion. @ANTONIODESTE: a warm greeting. I'm glad to reconnect after our discussion about EL&P, which feels like ages ago. @SORCIOPELOSO: a record that is DEFINITELY not for you. I’ll try to check the chat more often because frankly, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you. Thanks, everyone.
Isaac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul
Voto:
In the Classic Rock section of Mucchio's October issue (currently on newsstands), this album is featured on the "milestone" page. The article is written by Eddy Cilìa, a great expert in soul music. I pale in comparison, yet I feel that Cilìa takes for granted that this album is very well known. Which it should be, but I fear that it may not be so established. I also learn that Isaac Hayes left this world on August 10th. I was not aware of this. How ignorant of me! R.I.P.

At the moment I decided to write this stuff, I was well aware that I wouldn't find much support from debaseriani. The album is exactly what I've described; it has a bit of that nostalgic '80s sound. I can also understand the easy excitement, not just from Pitchfork, that it may have generated. It's an album to be taken for what it is, without too much commitment and/or expectations. The EP was made up of four tracks that all ended up on this debut work. I understand it may not appeal to everyone being a heavily plundered genre, but at least I enjoy it. Thanks to all.

@Vivis. I receive the notification emails regularly. I have the impression that you don’t even get the private messages, since you don’t reply. I hadn’t forgotten. Bye.
R.E.M. Out Of Time
Voto:
It’s true that with this album the R.E.M. have come out into the open, but it’s also true that long-time fans have not taken kindly to "Losing My Religion" and "Shiny Happy People" blaring from car speakers that until then had been tuned to Ramazzotti and Mango. Personally, I find "Out Of Time" a very slick album and perhaps the worst by the Georgian quartet up to that point. A quite superficial review.

oh my god, THIRD.

It's not quite clear whether she has returned to the sounds of her debut album or whether she has followed the much more stripped-down path of the previous work that I reviewed negatively (this, for the record, is the so-called difficult third album). Perhaps it's hard to tell because it's the first album you listen to from the Italian-Icelandic artist. In any case, I'll gladly give it a listen.
Stefano Rosso Una Storia Disonesta

Damn, there’s even a review about Stefano Rosso. He died yesterday. Not that he was super famous, but "how nice, two friends, a guitar, and a joint" is something maybe everyone has heard a bit.
Primal Scream Beautiful Future
Voto:
Considering that some users involved have heard little or nothing from the PS, and some don't even know who they are, I believe that Screamadelica, in case someone is curious about Gillespie and company, is the album to listen to first. Then I mentioned Vanishing Point for personal taste, but rightly so, I wouldn't underestimate anything from the work of the group in question, least of all XTRMNTR or Evil Heat, which have all been excellently reviewed here.
