I must say that I haven't listened to this album since it was released in 1998. So it's possible that my memories are a bit hazy. Just going by memory, the first feeling that comes to mind is the one I’ve already described, that is, an album made of little music. A whispered, intimate album. I don't seem to remember any great melodies, but that doesn't mean I intend to diminish it; quite the opposite. Anyway, this weekend I will find a way to "rediscover" it, and then I will tell you more thoroughly.
Everything But The Girl Amplified Heart

Ben Watt's album is found. I recall Socrates' mention of it, but at that time I had a terrifying shopping list. Now it's a must to look for it. I think I might like it considering that EBTG (in my opinion) have never made a bad album.

X Fosca. But are you really convinced that music critics always judge records objectively and impartially? Don't you think that sometimes critical sense goes out the window? And who can say for certain that this is a good record and that one is bad? For critics, The End OF The Game by Peter Green is a masterpiece while Gigi D'Alessio doesn't even exist. Go tell that to the millions of fans of the Neapolitan artist. And then, to be true critics, perhaps one should have tried to write a song (or an album) and realize just how difficult it really is. To keep it simple, I still believe that everyone listens with their own ears.
Associates Perhaps

I recently bought "Sulk" by the Associates. As usual, I haven't listened to it yet (I have quite a backlog to get through). They say that "Sulk" is the best one. I'll give it a listen and report back.
Caravan If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You

"I haven't listened to 'In The Land Of Grey And Pink.' A gap that I will fill as soon as possible. In fact, the masterpiece of the Caravans seems to be that one and not this. But this was a review that was missing, and the record positively surprised me, so I wanted to talk about it."

Anecdote: Ian McCulloch, in a moment of vanity, declared at the time that in the cover photo, the only one who had not been airbrushed was himself because, he said, there was no need. Aside from this nonsense, the album is good but nothing exceptional. Rating 3.5
Pino Daniele Live Sciò

Perhaps Pino Daniele doesn't write bad songs. However, he has a voice that I find unbearable. It really annoys me. In comparison, Carmen Consoli is a sweetie.
Elvis Costello & Burt Bacharach Painted From Memory
Voto:
It's somewhat similar to what I said about Donald Fagen. I'm always doubtful about the comebacks of people who have already given so much. But when Costello says "...when the song takes off Bacharach shifts into a gear I don't know..." isn't he just professing false modesty? Elvis has shifted quite a few of those gears in the past too. Maybe it's just respect for age?
Caravan If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You

I'm turning forty-four. In 1970 I was there, but I was seven years old, not old enough to say I was part of this world. I’m glad to read that someone shares the same feelings as mine when listening to these now "dusty" records. However, the Caravan are not that unknown; let's say they are in the second tier of progressive rock, while the first tier is occupied by the likes of Genesis, ELP, Van Der Graaf Generator, Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd (in flashes), and so on, in short, very famous names.

But how Odradek?!? You know the impossible and you don't know this? You pass the Moose and Eg and Alice, but not the Caravan?! How is that possible?!?
