easycure, you're always a bit drastic. Frankly, I expected much worse from the third album. The melodies aren't that obvious and are actually quite enjoyable from the first listen. The single, for example, in my opinion is a nice piece, perhaps one of the best singles they've made alongside cloks. They seem to have grown and improved. Although, of course, when you make this kind of music and you've already played your best cards on the first album, it's hard to replicate without coming off as a bit predictable. Then, clearly, if you don't like the genre, it can also be considered a melodic piece of crap... no offense (I’m not referring to you).

I am referring to pieces that can suitably represent the 90s.. beyond my personal taste..

Alright, say whatever the hell you want... but I don’t want to read any more nonsense against Blur, who were (and are) a fantastic band, nothing to do with these spoiled brats from MTV. They've been churning out trash for way too long, something Blur has never done. And Think Tank is the latest masterpiece to remind us of that. P.S. don’t look back in anger the best song of the ’90s??? Please, let’s not kid ourselves; it’s a pleasant little tune with a lovely melody. Nothing more. Ranking the best song of the last 10 years is something for 12-year-olds, anyway I believe a Teardrop by Massive Attack or a Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, or any track by Radiohead from Ok Computer (and I’m citing randomly from hundreds of songs that could fit as an example) are light years above the aforementioned one from Oasis.

Simply staying on topic, I utterly disagree with the statement that Amorematico was less experimental. Aside from those two catchy tunes that became hits in their own way, the rest of the album was much more experimental than the first two. The latter might have a more rock attitude, but I’ve listened to it and, in my opinion, the vibe is still the same. Maybe that's exactly why they've really become quite annoying! For those of us who have been listening to them since their very first concerts with just 50 people, like it happened for us in Turin, it’s only natural to reach a saturation point earlier than others. I find Samuel's voice (machine or not) too hard to digest for a while now, even for the kids at the beach when they mess around with the electronic tracks... but you can't expect the same from a 14-year-old hearing them for the first time on Radio DJ.

Dear marcmat, first of all, I wanted to point out that you've significantly changed the subject for no reason.. yes, Casacci can be a pain in the ass by acting like a pseudo-intellectual communist at all costs, often coming across as out of place. I fully agree with you. So what?? What does it have to do with our discussion? In the video of Linea 77 in piazza castello, there were 4 losers at most... so what??? What does it have to do with our discussion??? If they had done it in '97, would there have been more people?? I don't think so... quite the opposite.

"You can hear the Doves, the Kins, the Who, and the inevitable Beatles," but why not just listen to the originals? P.S. Yesterday I went to the Arcade Fire concert... they are unbearable, but the music... damn... fantastic! After all, the album was already wonderful...

I don’t know, but it seems so much like the others to me.. I don’t see this big victory.. I don’t know, but I still see them at the murazzi or in Palazzo Nuovo..
