Anyway, the beating at the Diaz school was almost South American stuff from the '70s, a truly shameful thing.

In my opinion, unfortunately, those who go out to protest and cause chaos like at the G8 in Genoa are counterproductive, because they make themselves too easy to manipulate. The riot police are just dogs obeying their master; they don't think about whom to beat and whom not to, they just have to clear the way... But it's not through protests that you make a revolution. These kids who let the police beat them with faces like "look, look what I'm letting them do!" seem really pathetic to me; it's not by causing trouble for the police and politicians that the situation improves. Paradoxically (but not too much), those who stayed home and worked while ignoring the event did something more useful. That’s my opinion.

Nicknames are invented; in reality, Enrico De Pedis was called "Renatino," not "Il Dandi." Anyway, here Maglio explains the situation, always regarding the crime on Via Gatteschi, which triggered a strong reaction (the placement of a bounty on the capture of the bandits, hundreds of roadblocks in Rome with extensive checks).

The crime on via Gatteschi is obviously not related to the Magliana, but it is indicative of how society was changing and the values that characterized it.

The Magliana gang was the first to gain full control in Rome because they were the first to shoot. Until the 1970s, the neighborhoods and suburbs were controlled by kids and gangs that, however, did not resort to violence... The first to kill with a certain "carelessness" were those from Magliana. The robbery-motivated murder, the Gatteschi case of '67, caused a lot of uproar, where two jeweler brothers aged 19 and 23 were killed.

Very reductive: "four unruly lads"... What the hell are you saying? Oasis still deserve a lot, and what they have, they've earned it.

This is a nice album. The review is good too, surrealist. And anyway, Oasis are really great; a serious rock band, even though they've made it big for quite some time now. Unfortunately, that's how it works: when someone is still trying to break through, everyone is there to support him. Once he's made it, all the broken asses start throwing shit at him. C'est la vie... Great choice for the album title as well, "dig out your soul." :-) And look at what they did too
