how nice it would be to get a reply from Adriano, but I have a feeling he has run away with his tail between his legs.

What a beautiful, amusing, and entertaining review, a bit out of your usual style, perfect before shutting down the computer for the night... as for the rest, I trust you and will head to other Milesian shores.

"let's finally say that you've seen 4 films in total. Name: happypippo" in reality you had already said it, specifically in the review of Leon. you know how it is with age... maybe you've seen more films (for crying out loud, you're double my age) but you start to forget things. what can you do?

I repeat that you generalize. You haven't seen the films, yet you criticize them. After all, everything is violent. But have you ever read Hulk since you brought him up? No, because Hulk is a very deep comic that opposes the green, angry giant with a nerdy and highly intelligent counterpart, but it doesn’t do so simply: you can't imagine the sadness that envelops you when reading certain Hulk stories. And yet you criticize him for being tough and for beating everyone up. You lack the basics, yet you critique, critique, critique... You even give me a moral lecture: do video games turn children into serial killers? What nonsense. Have you ever thought that video games are nothing but the technological update of previous games? Tell me now that you never had a cowboy gun as a child. Tell me that you or your friends never played with Legos to create a model town or a happy little family? And didn’t it occur to you that this is, in essence, a non-digital version of The Sims? And then you bring up boxing. But do you know when boxing was born? The Sumerians, the Egyptians—all ancient civilizations had boxing tournaments. In the 1700s, English dominance was strong, and maybe now it’s American, but that doesn’t mean boxing is an American sport. As S4doll told you, PlayStation comes from Japan, but you (who don’t bother to inform yourself) said it was American. You are ignorant. I don’t know how you do it, but you’ve shot off bullshit like crazy, all of which could easily be debunked with a little internet research and some personal culture. The discourse on the Japanese is so vast that even I don’t feel like tackling it, but even there, you’ve been terribly superficial: you can’t even imagine what boils in Japanese culture after the two bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the need for certainties, the fear of an infected and radioactive future, the attraction to mechanics. And yet you reduce it all to a copy of violent American films. Your thinking is narrow-minded and frightening. The ease with which you spit out judgments is as terrible as any false moralism (which you yourself fall into). It seems to me that from your discourse, I even gather that Marilyn Manson incites violence in young people, which is the height of absurdity. Even my grandfather doesn’t think that way anymore. Reading your comment feels like reading a bad page from society/current events/culture/denunciation from Panorama. The same superficiality and the same tendency to take oneself too seriously as if one were the sole custodian of the truth.

Everything you denounce can easily be found in Italy as well, clearly on a smaller scale, but everything is relative after all. And let's be clear, Allen, Peckinpah, Coppola, and Kubrick are not exactly underground as you say. And then all this violence, I don’t see it. And what about the Japanese? Haven’t we had our own excessively violent films? Mondo Cane and Cannibal Holocaust are both by Italian directors. So what? You generalize. Okay, you're right about cigarettes: yet our government does the same? They sell them and make money, but they also put warnings about the dangers. Do you really think that corruption and hypocrisy, false morality, and petty bigotry are only American? And what about the UDC? Berlusconi, who was Prime Minister when he should have been in prison? Andreotti, who almost got elected Speaker of the Chamber after being acquitted because the crime was committed but had fallen under statute of limitations? The filth is everywhere, my friend. You’d do better to look at your own house before spitting trash on others.
