bad series and biased review. just because something (a cartoon, a record, a comic) kept us company during elementary school doesn't mean it's a masterpiece; in fact, it's much more likely to be the opposite.

never heard of it, but I want it!

The legend has it that Morrison wanted to include Robin in the work, but McKean replied that he was already undermining his art with Batman and would never draw the Boy Wonder.

I've never heard it on record, but it really attracts me. I saw it live at NetMage 2008 and it made a great impression on me! A challenging but beautiful review.

I can't stand him. Terrible music, and it's a shame because porn and eroticism have always been fertile grounds for good groovy music, while he is simply banal, vulgar, and plastic.

I think in the end we mostly agree, but Molly's full lips and curvy body slightly disturbed me when I read Un'Estate Indiana for the first time. However, what I really can't forgive him (without even considering the collaboration with Gigi D'Alessio) is the fact that he's never experimented (excluding, as mentioned, the cycle on Bergman), the repetition to the point of nausea.

de gustibus, HardRock, but defining Dampyr as visionary and cruel seems to me definitely exaggerated. And then number 100 and those before it are illegible: every now and then they come up with nice stories, but it remains a reading for the toilet (in the sense of excellent entertainment to read while sitting on the loo). Visionary and cruel it has been, in its best examples, Hellblazer (and even DD once didn’t joke around, how much cruelty is there in Ombre?!), not Dampyr. Great, Manara was great when he worked with Pratt or when he played at being the Antonioni of comics (incommunicability, adventure...), then goodbye. Holy god, damn, it’s been thirty years since he changed a comma in his style (even though that half-porn half-splatter mess of I Borgia with Jodorowsky wasn’t exactly to be thrown away).

@Brat: it's obvious that Bonelli isn't the only one, but that's what we are talking about, no need to point it out. Well, Medda-Serra-Vigna were craftsmen, sure, but they have always known how to write science fiction and Nathan, decline or not, is the only comic made in Bonelli that has never gone below a passing grade. Brendon is true, it left room for hope but then experienced a decline that, in comparison, makes DD's look insignificant (and at least DD had its decline after many issues). Dampyr is pure cliché (horror, western, road movie and whatever else you can think of) but it isn't always as tasty as a comic of this kind should be. I find it strange that no one has brought up those that are perhaps the best results from Bonelli in recent years (at least artistically, because I don’t think they sell that much): Napoleone and especially the latest addition Jan Dix. As for the rest, the comic being examined here (not just Tex) is serial and so it’s normal that it often relies on pure craftsmanship, but there are exceptions and both Ken Parker and the first DD (the one by Sclavi) were definitely above average. Ah, Super, far be it from me to defend Manara (especially the erotic stuff, because I must say that I quite like some things about Bergman, quite the opposite...), but Necron isn't all that wonderful either.
