more than three stars no. the idea is nice, but it lacks literary flair, an original style, and also a bit of focus. luckily this year Casali and Camuncoli took care of making it a beautiful comic (first published in three parts and then in a single volume by Panini Comics).

I saw them at Locomotiv here in Bologna, recording an episode of MagazzenoBis with a bit of an interview too. I didn’t know them at all but... beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! It’s the most Slint thing I’ve heard in Italy, they’re less eclectic and quirky but damn they have a really powerful and deep sound. I also picked up Da Qui (Mimì and Egle said it’s their favorite) and on record they might even be more multifaceted.

Then there are artists in the electronic field who, even though they haven't invented anything, I appreciate even more than Hawtin, but let's give credit where credit is due.

Well, Concept1 and the first Ambient Session by Aphex aren't that far apart and are undoubtedly among the most brilliant works of the more obscure electronic music of the past decade. Hawtin is revolutionary because he invented minimal.

I'm almost in agreement with the ending attributed to Richie, his recycling without much imagination... however, at the beginning, this man was at the forefront and out there in the electronic field; it seems you're forgetting this and limiting yourself to a fair assessment of his recent years. I don't want to exaggerate, but for example, Sheet One under the name Plastikman offers simply wonderful techno in terms of rhythms and sounds, already incorporating some minimal tricks. Not to mention the cornerstone from '96, those twelve singles that ended up in Concept1; there you can't say anything: it's the quintessential minimal foundation, it's a sonic revolution like few others. But twelve years have passed, and nowadays Richie is certainly closer to your accusations of laziness than to my praise of a time now long gone (and thoroughly examined to the point of sterility).

@MichoosWhat: Plastikman is usually more techno than the names you mentioned, however, it's not an easy or straightforward listen. If you like those two, I would suggest giving it a try (maybe more towards the stuff recorded under Richie Hawtin)...

heavy, repetitive review, with some errors and a too limited vocabulary. however, the effort to talk about Hawtin is commendable. I'm missing this, I will try to look for it as soon as possible. @Yosif: you, like everyone else, are kindly asked to justify your statements.

Damn, what a great read your review is first thing in the morning. I've never seen the movie, but damn the book is phenomenal! It has an incredible pace and some mind-blowing situations.
