great album. beautiful beautiful beautiful. you don't even mention one of the greatest drummers of all time for a second, who also writes music and lyrics (all the lyrics from all the Rush albums are by Peart). great, although they started out as a sort of cover band, they became seminal for many, with an incredible sound, and before being completely copied by the shameful Dream Theater. as I usually tell my slightly nerdy friends who go crazy for Portnoy and company... when you have a Rush CD, you already have the entire discography of Dream. anyone who has the desire to listen to them and make comparisons will realize what kind of copy and paste the Dream guys do with the riffs from Rush. why is Peart greater than Portnoy? because he does the same things, with much more style and with an instrumentation that is at least a third less. and here there is style, guys, style, class, and taste. there are no show-offs. we are in the presence of the greatest power trio in history. more than metal, I would define them as art rock, but in fact, especially in the following albums, there are quite a few metal "riffs".
Enrico Ruggeri Punk prima di te
Voto:
kosmogabri..if you know Ruggeri (and it seems you do!) you also know that covers are not exactly his strong suit...I’d say he’s at the forefront like Fiorella Mannoia.. by now this album is the only way to get some decibels...
Marilyn Manson Lest We Forget (The Best Of)
Voto:
oscillators, envelope filters, van der graaf generators, and a modest sound technician. Marilyn Manson strutting around the stage in a thong is a riot. But how the hell do you listen to this stuff?? With all the beauty in the world, why take a trip to the dump?? No one mentioned the Killing Joke.

Banco del mutuo soccorso Darwin!

it's not from 5. bdms and I was born free I'm from 5. I've never been able to get passionate about Darwin...I read everywhere that it's a masterpiece...but it doesn't drive me crazy.
David Bowie The Man Who Sold The World
Voto:
I think it's also a bit proto-prog... Bowie was great at riding the right wave... and this album was born in a period that couldn't be more prog! In my opinion, the best of Bowie, great review.
